Coldstone is having a promotion to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation on 7/29 and is giving away free slices of Oreo Ice Cream Cake.

Here's the link:

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder how long the line will be?

The last time we went for a freebie, the lines were out the door but they were working very fast to serve everyone. I hope it is a successful campaign as Make-A-Wish benefits so many terminally ill children and their families.

I just wish ours would hurry up and OPEN!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Is it really better than marble slab???

They do not only benefit terminally ill children....they grant wishes for any child with a life threatening illness....they don't have to be terminal. My godson had a wish granted and it was so special to him...my friends child also had a wish-she had leukemia and has made a full recovery.

::yes:: I'm a Make-A-Wish volunteer, and they actually are pretty particular within the organization not to use the term "terminal". Not that they'll shun someone who innocently makes the mistake, but it's just an FYI. They've made a push (or atleast our chapter has) to kind of break away from the stigma of fatality. A lot of families, for a number of reasons, don't want to accept the magic that Make-A-Wish has to offer because they don't want to scare their ill children or, for some of them, it's "denial" on the parents' part. That's why they're trying to emphasize the idea that the kids are brave and special and facing something that IS beatable, if they can keep their hopes and spirits up - Sharing the power of a wish.

Fortunately, many Wish Kids do fully recover and often they become some of the most loyal volunteers, too!!

*ahem*

But now, off my soapbox - hope everyone has fun at the World's Largest Ice Cream Social!!

Can I have them keep the free cake and have a free dish of "cake batter" ice cream instead? I'll even take the "like it" size!

Now to get dh & the girls excited ... ::yes::

which really shouldn't be hard to do!

The nearest "Stone" to me is 60 miles or so.

Star, it is pretty much the same as Marble Slab, although they have some really great flavors that may be unique to them, cake batter for one. THey dip out the ice cream and put it onto a frozen slab of marble and add the mix ins.
