Finally.... after the realization hit me that I COULD actually go to Disney on my own... here I am!!!
Cast of Characters:
Me - Kathy, Single 39 (OMG!!!)
Pal Mickey - My constant sidekick throughout this trip (thought I killed him one night.. but more on that later)
Okay...so.... when last we met, I was in MGM doing the "wander through the park aimlessly...absorb all the Disney Magic... and Oggle at the Unbelievable sea of humanity".. while I waited for my room to be ready... as I was anxious to see what my room was going to look like and since it was now after 3pm... I decided to head back over to the Swan and see if my room was ready...
as I exit the park I decide to walk back to the swan as a boat had just left the dock.. and there was a HUGE line of people waiting for the next one...
....a quick calculation.... 20 min and I was sure I would not get onto the first one...so...another 20 min... NO WAY Jose... Mickey...let's get those feet going!! And off we go... (gee... at this rate I ought to make a nice dent into my weight loss attempt!! Yeah.. Yeah.. I know... Cinnamon Roll... that's been long walked off!! 
Okay... so... I journey back to the Swan.. and realize that I am quite hungry. and THIRSTY.. I have been craving a Lemonade since I got to DISNEY.. and now it was imperative that I get one....I guess one cinnamon roll is not enough fuel for an ENTIRE day!!! 
so.. now I start to plan my evening... I will get into the room.... get my lemonade.... grab a bite to eat at the hotel... a little something to hold me over... and then head back to MGM to try and get on some of the attractions... Yep.. sounds like a plan!!! Okay... head on up to the desk.. (did I get a balcony?? Did I get a balcony??? I still don't know).. Once again.. noone at the front desk attempting to check in... lots of bellman.. and 2 people behind the counter.... I go up to one of them and ask if my room is ready... (SURE that it had to be by now!!) "What's your last name?"... tap...tap....tap....tap...Okay... One moment... tap.. tap... tap.... She gives the computer screen a perplexed look... tap... tap...tap... UH Oh.. this can't be good - I think... sure enough.. the words I dreaded hearing... Unfortunately....
your room is not ready yet. Well... I am hungry.. tired. (and did I mention that I REALLY want a Lemonade???).. and anxious to get started.... so... a "LITTLE" of the irish in me came out 
I asked how it was possible at nearly 4:00 pm my room could not be ready? When check in is at 3:00 pm??? and maybe some other stuff which caused her to whisk into the "inner office" after MANY minutes later she came back out.. and said that she was VERY sorry.. but the room was not ready.. if I would like.. they would call me on my cell phone when it was... I asked if there were any other rooms that were ready that I could have instead... and she was about to look.... when I asked that all important question... Ummm... the room I am waiting for.. does it have a balcony??... Let me check she says... .tap... tap...t ap... tap..... Yes.. she says... King Bed.. Balcony.. Resort View ....
wow.. I hit the lottery!... Nevermind I tell her... I will wait for that room... Just call me when it is ready... I thank her profusely... and head off on my way to search for some food... I have already figured out that the Swan has no Counter Service options open... so I head on over to the Dolphin..... as I am about to walk into the Dolphin.. my cell phone rings... "Hello?... Yes.. this is #5@%527 from the Swan... We just wanted to let you know that your room is ready" HUH???? But.. I just walked from one building to the other... maybe a 2 minute time span from when I left the front desk.. Hey.. but who cares.. I'm IN Disney!! AND My ROOM IS READY!!!! Okay.. but now I have a dillema... I AM REALLY HUNGRY. and I NEED a Lemonade...Okay... grab something quick... first thing I see at the Dolphin as the Ice Cream Fountain... okay... let's see.. what do they have.. Hmmmm Burgers... Hot Dogs.. oh my... seems like those things are taking a while to come out... continue to scan the menu... and YAY!!! Lemonade... Okay...so.. I order a lemonade.. and an order of fries... after all.. how long could that take??? Well... 15 min later... I am Still waiting for my fries... my lemonade is LONG gone... and I am itching to go to my room... I make a quick stop at TUbbis to pick up some sodas and beer for my room.. .head back up to pick up my fries... and off I go to check out my room.... 
... I head over to the front desk...and go through the same routine... Last Name... tap... tap.. tap... frown... scratch head.. tap... tap.. tap... OH NO>> I think.... Ummmm... Excuse me one moment... and back into the "inner office" he goes... I wait.. and wait.. my fries growing colder by the minute... and I start to notice the other clerks and bellmen sniffing the air and eyeing my bag ... "That sure smells good..." I hear over and over... Uh Oh... I clutch my sorry little fries to myself as I worry as to if I have a room... The door to the "inner office" opens.. and out he comes... I try and decipher his expression... I wait patiently with a smile on my face... I even offer him some of my fries... (hmmm.. do you think that will work????) He taps a bit more... and Yippeeee.. I am awarded with my room key!!! "Just go on up to your room and we will send your bags up right away.." The words I have been waiting to hear.... I head on over to the West Elevators... and up to the 6th floor.. my room is 690.. with club privileges... will it be all I am hoping it to be??? Tune in for the next installment of "Hey... who cares.. I'm IN Disney"
