Hey anyone close by in the East Bay.. (re: Extreme Home makeover)

Wow, with the popularity of that show, I'm surprised that companies wouldn't be lining up to be part of it.

I couldn't get the link to open (I'm having huge pop-up issues!) but does it say why they backed out? What kind of fundraiser are they having?

I love that show - they do such a great job with those houses.

Here's the article, It doesn't say much but man... that sure ticks me off.

Apr. 22 (ABC7) — The ABC show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition needs your help. The show's crew is holding a fundraiser tomorrow to help finish a house in Livermore. The crew says a furniture vendor backed out at the last minute.

The five-bedroom home belongs to eight children, whose parents died within weeks of each other last year. Both of their parents died two weeks apart of heart attacks last summer. The Cadigan-Scott family was chosen to receive a home makeover from thousands of applicants.

The show sent the family on an all-expense paid trip to Disney World while the renovations take place.

The fundraiser will be held Saturday at Livermore High School between 4-7 p.m. The school is located at 600 Maple Street in Livermore. You'll be able to have your picture taken with host Ty Pennington.

The producers of the show are unsure exactly when the episode will air but will most likely be sometime in May.
