Hertz??

Didnt love Hertz at Santa Ana airport for a DL trip. Took 45 minutes to get a car even though I had "skip the line" For sure was mad and had I ubered I would've been at Disney by the time Hertz gave me my car.

I have used Dollar for years but I think that they have gotten rid of the straight to the garage desk.
MY question with Hertz is that if you sign up with the Gold membership can you use the direct to garage option if you don't prepay with a credit card? I realize that I'll have to give the garage desk person my license and credit card.
You'll have to have a credit card on file to hold the reservation but you'll actually hand your DL and CC to the person at the exit booth. If you prepay, you don't get any benefits from being a Gold Plus Member.

I had no idea that was the case

We usually use Alamo but this trip Hertz at MCO was great and $175 less than Alamo. We are using Hertz again in April.

Recently Hertz admitted that it had more electric cars than it wanted for normal business, and held their annual vehicle retirement sale with a lot of electrics.

Don't reserve "the gold aisle" or any other special category that does not specify the kind of car. You could end up with an electric car you did not want. If you make an "ordinary" reservation and when you get there are directed to a specific aisle e.g. gold to find your car and all they have is electrics not intuitively included in your selection, go back to the office or counter to request (or demand) what your reserved. IMHO "or similar" does not include electric if the models cited e.g. Pontiac Catalina are not electric.

Your credit card collision benefit might exclude some models notably convertibles and pickup trucks. Unfortunately you cannot expect something more to your liking if what they assign to you is large enough to hold the persons and luggage your selection described when your reserved, and has air conditioning and automatic transmission.

Hertz doesn't reserve the Gold aisle. Access to the gold aisle is granted with a midsize or above reservation. I also have never seen an electric vehicle on the Gold or President's Circle aisles at MCO or any other Ultimate Choice location. At MCO, you can go to the Gold Plus hut in the garage and ask for a different vehicle if your type is not in the Gold Aisle. My experience has been that there are always midsize and midsize SUVs on the aisle and other higher class vehicles while they may be on the aisle are also in a separate area. If you reserve a minivan, you will be given a space number that has a minivan, or you can choose something from the aisle.

Is that happening? Where EVERY car in a specific aisle is electric?

Even if it is, you go back to the counter, wait in line, and are told "that's what we have available, you're free to wait until another car shows up". Then what? I guess cancel and get a car at another company.
