Hertz renters.... BOLO

So I just picked up a car from Hertz at the Richmond, VA Airport. I'm on the board as "Presidents Circle", so I start heading to the cars. I'm stopped by the attendant who said starting this week, everyone needs to stop at the booth. Keys are no longer kept in the cars.

I asked if this was location specific and she said it was company wide. I called Hertz when I got to my hotel and was told they have no record of it.

Next time someone gets a Hertz rental (or if you've rented since Monday), I'd like to know if you were able to go right to the car.

If this is a corporate policy change, I'll go elsewhere.

No way was this a company wide change. Sounds to me like someone needed to hit their upsell metrics. If this were company wide, it would certainly be all over FlyerTalk, and not a word of it there.

I kind of figured it would have been all over the net if it was corporate wide, but still wanted to throw it out there.

I've been to a handful of Hertz locations where everyone does have to go to the counter, so if RIC does that, so be it.
