I have done the halloween nights they have, and love them. Has anyone done the springtime weekend? I know it is Easter this year, but we are thinking of going Sat/Sun rather than a bunch of candy and toys, doing something fun. Any advice?

I think this is the first year they are doing springtime in the park. My DMom gave each member of the family a season pass for Christmas. So, we are trying to coordinate a family get together that weekend. Maybe we will see you there!!

ETA: I just did a google search and found out this is not the first year for springtime in the park. I can't believe I never heard of this before.

I think I will priceline a hotel in harrisburg area (we are staying at Hotel Hershey in May, and it is too pricey to do 2 times)

We did it in May, the middle for two years.
And last year in June. :thumbsup2
Crowds were so so both times.

Crowds really don't get to me, we got to FL 3x's a year and it's always Feb/April and either October or November for 2 weeks and those times for the last 17 years have been packed.........:beach:

We did go to Hershey once (and never again then) in August a few years back, too humid (more than here) and it was horrible.:faint:
I don't like the humidity, that's just me!:furious:

Have fun!

How many days until 4/10? I can't wait I need more FL Sunshine!pixiedust:
And more Madri Gras:joker:

Here is a thread that has some helpful info about area hotels:

I haven't found any more info about the actual activities that they have at the springtime in the park. I am curious to find out myself.

We did a package about 3 years ago at the Hershey Lodge. This was Easter Weekend which included a room for 2 nights and meals for about $900 for 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids). Definitely overpriced. It was ok, although the park was very crowded. You could either buy a wristband or separate tickets. I would not do the package thing again for that price, but I would think about staying somewhere else.

I am going in a couple of weeks to the PDE annual conference and staying at the Lodge. I believe anytime in Hershey is fun no matter what time of the year. It can be quite expensive or reasonable depending when you go and where you stay, but I think you will have a wonderful time. It can be cooler like north PA tho, pixiedust:

We were thinking of doing this again this year. We went a few years ago with our son and stayed at the Hotel Hershey. I called the other last weekend to confirm they do the same thing. It was very special. The evening before Easter we came back to our room and there was a note there to pick up your easter basket in the morning in a certain room. When we took our son there they had tons of baskets and the Easter Bunny in a chair. Our son went up to the easter bunny and got his basket. They also had crafts in one of the rooms and a great easter egg hunt on easter. The brunch in the circular dining room was fabulous. They no longer do the package of a few years ago but I was told they are going to have the same activities and one nice thing is there is no 2 night minimum. As far as the park being crowded it did get more crowded in the afternoons but was manageable.

We did Springtime at Hershey last year. We went the Saturday before Easter. We live less than 2 hours away so it was just a day trip for us. Admission to the park that day was really cheap. I think adults were $15. It was a gorgeous day and they ended up opening a few more rides than planned. The Coal Cracker (log flume ride) was opened up and it wasn't on the list of available attractions. The park was PACKED. We actually ended up leaving around 5:30 . . . we are "stay to the bitter end types". A few of the big rides we didn't do because the wait was 2+ hours by mid-afternoon. We had a great time but I don't think they were quite ready for such a big crowd. I'm sure the crowd was due in part to the warm weather (I think it was 80!) and in great part to the low ticket price.

I homeschool my son and the just sent an email about getting disocunt tix thru the school. I just bought APs, and they only want $24 per adult ticket(for regular admission)! Almost half price! I could faint. But, I actually got the APs for $100 pp so still 4 times of use pays for it and we get free parking and discount on food and merchandise, so still good deal. We are going to stay at the Sheraton in Harrisburg(not Four Points, the one that used to be Wyndham). We stayed when it was Wyndham, anyone been there since it got taken over by Sheraton? For 1/4 of the cost, can't complain!!(thanks, Priceline!!)

I'm visiting relatives in Washington DC this spring break and I think we'll try to do a day trip to Hershey on Easter Sunday. I wonder if it will be packed on that day....I'm hoping everyone else will be in church ;) . We're going to do church the Saturday night before.

Man I remember when springtime, halloween, and christmas at hershey were free to get in pay as you go for rides!! My daughter (#1) was born at the penn st hershey hospital ;) We use to go for when ever we were down there for her heart appointments! I can't believe you actually have to pay to get in now.. yes i'm that cheap! Have fun everyone!!!
