DH did something really stupid and now has a herniated disc in his lower back. He got an epidural last Thursday and was gloriously nearly pain free for one day! Now he cannot stand without rushing to a chair for longer than 5 minutes. We leave to spend Easter with our CP daughter daughter tomorrow at 6am or else I would just cancel. Obviously this man will not be riding any rides!!! I would like to rent him a scooter from a scooter rental company as I don't believe he can walk from the room to the bus stop or the monorail. We are staying at the GF. Mr.Hard Head says scooters are for old people. He also believes he might ride some "baby rides" in Fantasyland". What is wrong with men? He says he can just limp from bench to bench along the way....in SPRING BREAK CROWDS!
Any herniated disc success stories....fingers crossed

Tell him the scooter isn't for him it's for his family I fought using a scooter and had to stop every 5 minutes to sit. The first time I used a scooter it was life changing it was the best vacation in years plus at the end of the day they didn't have to listen to me complain. My wife and daughters told me they would never let me go without a scooter again

Thank you!! I just rented a scooter! DH is mad and says I wasted money and it is just going to sit in the room....I bet he uses it!

My partner has had two herniated discs for the last 20 years. She has absolutely no intention of doing anything about them (that's another story) so we go about our lives and she rides everything. However, shortly before we started dating, we started going to Disney together with scooters.

It has changed EVERYTHING. We get so much more done! We're less tired at the end of the day! Neither of us wants to cry from our various physical limitations at the end of the day! And like the previous poster mentioned, it is a trip that you ALL should enjoy, and none of you are going to have fun if he is constantly hobbling from bench to bench. Stand your ground and tell him this is what is best for the family AND what is best for him.

I have one. I was like your hubby. If the shot worked for even one day, there is hope. I had three. I'm about 80% pain free. That won't help you now, but it will give him a boost, morale-wise.
As far as the parks...just have him take it slow. I don't have any ride restrictions, but I listen to my body.
