You are invited to join the Heritage Recipe SWAP.
The theme is Family, Traditional and Regional type recipes. It's for appetizers, soups, entrees, drinks, or desserts.

REQUIREMENTS: These must measure 8.5 x 5.5. Binders and protectors for this size can be found at Staples.
Use cardstock and layer at least once + one embellishment. You can embellish any way you choose, but be C-R-E-A-T-I-V-E!!! Make 6 for each group. You WILL get one of yours back. I will add groups as they fill up.
These are due November 3, 2007. No Later.
I will mail out all SWAPS on November 5, 07.
If you need an angel, please request one ASAP. It's not fair to the rest of the group to leave them hanging.

I will PM you my addy when you are ready to mail them. However you send them, incl. an envelope and postage for the same amt. for returning. Also include a piece of paper with your name, your Disboard name, recipe name, and group #. You may sign up for more than one group. We'll start with 4, and add or eliminate if needed.

I would do local too...but can't think of anything local for Delaware...

I'd like family favorites and local recipies!

For Delaware, I always think crab, lobster fish...:)

DUH!!! You are so RIGHT!!

OK, something crab... Thanks Dyan! I sooooo wanted the Key Lime Pie recipe. That's my fav dessert :goodvibes

I would like to do
Holiday Recipes: Christmas Bread
Family Favorites: Chicken Kiev
I don'ty know whether the other one would fit under Ancetrial Recipes or a Modified Local- I want to do Lumpia (a polinesian and Hawaian dish)- I lived in hawaii as a child and that is where we learned to make the dish- while my ansectors are from Europe my bnrother was born in Hawaii- I am not local to Hawaii now but I was at one time- like I said I would love to do it if it fits.

Kind sounded like it would fit well with Debbie's Irish something...:)

I'm home! I even managed to find a scrap mag in France to keep me sane :lmao:

Here's my recipes for the categories:

Holiday - mince pies

Family favourites -Mediterranean chicken

Ancestry - Toad in the hole

Local - Kentish apple cake

I love these swaps!! (might need to go onto my 3rd folder :lmao: )

OK....add me, please!!

I'll do:
Holiday: Inidan Pudding
Ancestral: Sauerbraten
Local: TBA

For local recipes, what would you prefer? Chicago Hot Dogs, Chicago style carmel corn, Chicago Style Cheese Popcorn, a Hearty Vegetable Beef Soup recipe, Italian Beef, Chicago Dip (appetizer with spinich), or apple pie?

Oh this will be wonderful! can I please have

Holiday - Cheese Ball
Family favourites - Crazy Cake
Ancestral recipes - Tortellini Chicken

Cheese popcorn sounds fun! We don't get recipes for popcorn here (though we can get poppers now)

I'd love a great recipe for vegetable beef soup, even if you don't use it for the swap, I would love a recipe. My DD just learned she likes soup and I want to try making it more often (it's kind of hard when you live in hot South Florida):rolleyes1

Ok, I made recipe decisions. Family Favorites will be Cinnamon Spiral Bread. Local Recipes will be apple rhubarb crisp.

Looks like I'm going for Goofy groups:
Family Favorites, Shipwreck Casserole, although I know this has been made in my family for at least 40 years
Local Recipes, Grits Casserole, not from where I live now, but from when we lived in the South-smells heavenly
Holiday Recipes, Barbecued Little Smokies (appetizer), and
Ancestral Recipes, Spritz

I've got my recipes typed in and laid out, but I'm having trouble with my transparencies :headache: Very slow to dry! The ones with a paper backing were still smudgeable (new word for today!!) after 5 hours, so I'm trying another sort that's sort of stikier, if you see what I mean. The first one fell straigh off the printer and smudged on the way down as I forgot to put out the paper catcher  But the next one seems to be OK after 4 hours. I'll just need to do one page at a time - might have to wait till the kids go back to school next week so i can spread pages all over the table;)

For my Regional / Local recipe, I will do Chicago Style Cheese Popcorn. Garrett's is a famous popcorn shop in Chicago that makes all kinds of popcorn but is most well-known (all over the country) for their Cheese popcorn and carmel corn....a lot of people buy a combination and actually mix them.

Dyan, I will either PM you a recipe for vegetable beef soup, or if another group in this category starts to fill up, I could add myself to it for that recipe.

Also, bumping this up........!!
