Any thoughts would be appreciated.....my head's spinning lol

OK - what do we have? There are 4 of us travelling, DH, DD14, DS 11 and little ole me, on Thursday 9th August for 10 nights.

Which Theme Parks do we want to do?

Sea World, Busch Gardens, MK, Epcot (2 days), AK (only for Expedition Everest and Dinosaur), MGM (only for Tower of Terror & Rock n Roller)

Have used the list of the Brit's Guide to Orlando for the Busy park days list.

Theme Park Tickets

We have 2 Disney days left - 1 park day and 1 water park day

Am planning to buy each of us:

7 day (+ 6 plusses) hopper with no expiration (might as well accept that we WILL return to the Magic at some point in the future ;)). Giving us a total of 8 park days and 7 plusses. Planning to use 4 park days and 3 or 4 plusses.

Seaworld/Busch Gardense-ticket combo from the SW site - allows as many visits as we like - if I've read the info correctly :confused3

ADRs

Not making any! Not too fussed if we just eat counter service or head off-site. Don't see us staying all day/evening if it's really really hot - happy to drive off-site to eat/freshen up/rest and head out again later in the day.

Thrusday 9th

If all goes well we should land at MCO at 16.55 and collect the car. We'll head straight over to our hotel, Meridian Palms, near marker 5/Sherberth Road on the 192. If not too tired will head out to get some bottles of water to keep in the room fridge and some dinner.

Friday 10th

EMH @ MK & MGM

Plan to have a day at Epcot.

Saturday 11th

EMH @ AK

The Brit's Guide's web-site put Magic Kingdom as being 'light' on crowds - not sure I trust that.....Saturday? MK light? Any thought? So we (ok I ;) ) have this down as a non-Disney day.

Boggy Creek for an early ride.
Shopping - Premium Outlets & Buena Vista Stores
Disney Quest - busy on a Saturday? Feel we need to use some of the many many plusses!

Sunday 12th

EMH @ MK & Epcot

MGM for the 2 rides TOT & RnR

hop to

AK for EE & Dinosaur. Doing it this way round because I think AK is a pretty park to mooch around in. If we do it 1st we'll rush it to get to MGM. Make sense?

Monday 13th
Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon

Tuesday 14th

Sea World Day

followed by Sweet Tomatoes!

Wednesday 15th

EMH @ AK & MGM

Magic Kingdom day.

Thursday 16th

EMH @ MK & Epcot

Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon

6pm booking for Cirque followed by dinner in DTD

Friday 17th

Busch Gardens

Saturday 18th

EMH @ MK & AK

Over to Epcot again - just can't fit it all into one day!

Sunday 19th

The last day!

DTD check-in - flight @ 20.10.

EMH @ MK & Epcot

So what are we going to do on this day to while away the hours. We COULD head to Sea World for a few hours - but that down as 'busy' on a Saturday. Out of the Disney parks the only ones I'd want to go back to are MK & Epcot but they have EMH - again B Guide has MK as 'light'.

Get to the airport for 6pm.

So waddya think? Do I need to swap anything? All suggestions welcomed :)

Hiya, glad someone else like to be busy, busy on holiday. Looks fine to me, though I am wondering why Universal and Islands are off the list. For your last day you could do mini golf, either Disney or one of the Pirate types and maybe go to Gatorland.

The past two years we have landed on a Saturday and stayed just around the corner from Sea World so headed there, even if it is a busy day. The thing about Sea World it is mostly viewing animals so I wouldn't worry too much about it being busy.

You will be there the same time as us, not long to go.

Thanks Bev. Yes we do like to keep busy - one of the reasons we like going.

We're not doing Universal or IOA because we blitzed them last October over 2 days - there for opening & FOTL - managed to do everything and we don't feel we want to again this year.

One of the things I'm a bit nervous about is the fact that MK is coming up as a 'light' day on a Saturday :confused3 why is that? I really would have thought it would be busy.

Have you looked at the up to date Brit's guide on the net for quietest days. I cannot remember when I did my plan for Magic Kingdom being quiet on a Saturday. Watch out for those EMH too, best Disney park to go to the next day is the one that had the EMH the day before.

I think I once read that mid week was more popular for MK because more American flights arrived then, they all headed straight to MK then to places like Universal/Sea World at the weekend. When I get five minutes I will dig out my plan and see what days I had down for being quiet on a Saturday to just double check for you.

Just been spinning, so in desperate need for a bath so it may be while till I get back to you, but I will.:)

I was looking at this when I was working out our plan.I had originally got saturday for MK then changed it to thursday,When I looked on the Brits guide about 2 weeks ago it siad saturday was light:confused3 .So have changed back to saturday. As we are going late july early august I just presume it will be busy anyway.I have changed my theory on EMH after reading threads where people have said the parks doing this are hectic and other parks seem to be quieter. The only one I have left is animal kingdom as it rarely stays open late.
It looks good what you have planned and as we all know it is not a rest hoiday its a fun holiday that you want to enjoy. We have at least 2 full days and 2 half days where we are not doing any parks but either relaxing at POR or mini golf ,waterparks and DTD.You do what is best for you and no matter what you will have a tiggeriffic time:banana: :lmao: :cool1: :dance3:

Thank you both for your comments.....sometimes you just need someone else to look at it for you :)

The two Saturdays we are there I worked out MK was a quiet day. There is usually an evening EMH on a Friday at MK which attracts terrible crowds perhaps this is a reason why Saturday has been given a quieter day. If you post a comment on Brit Up Dates (sticky at the top of this forum), I am sure Simon may be able to advise you as to why they recommend Saturday as a quieter day for MK.

Provided MK doesn't have a morning EMH and you hit the park before it opens you shouldn't have any problems with lines first thing in any case. As I have said before the last 2 times we went in July which is peak season and because we arrived early non of the parks posed any problems with lines first thing. Getting to the parks mid morning is another thing though.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
but if you are not staying in a Disney resort Hotel you will not be able to go to the EMH = Extra Magic Hours

Hi - MK is considered to be quiet on a Sat as this is often arrival or departure day for alot of people and also people assume MK will be busy at weekends and so avoid it!!

The real places to avoid at weekends tend to be the waterparks, which is when the locals go and where everyone else goes who is avoiding the so-called 'busy' theme parks!!!:thumbsup2

EMHs for August changed slightly after the announcement of the Pirate and Princess Parties. Saturday, 18th is now just a morning one at AK (the evening one at MK having moved to the previous day). The changes don't seem to effect your current plans, but it's worth keeping an eye on them right up until the last minute.

Saturday 11th is likely to be quiet for a number of reasons, not least because there is a P&PP that night and thus no Wishes or Spectro.

Jackie it's fine you don't bear bad news. I just made a note of EMH to make sure I don't go to those parks on those days.

Thanks for reading :)

Is it standard practice not to have Wishes on, on a P&PP night then? We will be wanting to catch Wishes at some point. On a P&PP night is the park just open to those going to this then? Don't know anything about it.

Its okay Deb, I had a look for some info about P&PP nights. I am glad you mentioned it, I wasn't aware that the park is closed to 'normal' people that night. I was relieved to see there isn't one on 14th August, that is our last night and one traditionally spent watching Wishes fireworks but I will keep checking the website before we go just in case there are any other changes I should know about.:)
