We booked a trip through Disney and realized we needed more meals on our meal plan, it's a 4 night stay and we want 5 days of meals. Is there a way to do this? We were just going to add a night prior to our visit, but Poly booked up except higher levels. I asked about staying somewhere different for the one night prior and they said it would have to be a separate reservation and we would have have a package (include tickets). I didn't like this option as I would have to pay a premium for one day only tickets, instead of using a 5 day parkhopper, etc. as planned under my existing reservation.

I thought about trying to get the one room through DVC rental, which we have done for previous stays and never had issues. I know DVC does not require you to attach tickets. But can we check into our DVC rental on 12/2. Then go the next morning and check in at our existing poly rental on 12/3 go to parks and eat off of our one day DVC rental meal plan) It seems like these would just be two separate packages and possible. Anyone got any suggestions?

Anyone have a solution? I guess we could just pay out of pocket for one day of our trip's meals.

I think I would keep what you have and just pay out of pocket for the extra meals to avoid confusion.

Unless you are in a room with a kitchenette and could have breakfast in, spreading the meals on the plan out over the length of your stay.

Do you have a room only + DDP right now? Are you at the max occupancy? If Yes and No to those questions, add a fake person and buy DDP on that person. If the changes to the DDP really stay, then you'll have an extra set of meals. Not sure if that will cover your extra day.

I would cancel the dining plan and buy the TIW card. you should save money and still have another 360+ days to use the card.

I thought TIW was for annual passholders, Florida residents and DVC members.

To the OP....just go to cheap counter service to make up for the one day. I think you are "overthinking" this.

The last trip we bought TIW for the All Star nights we add to our DVC trips for when we fly in and sometimes extend our stay if we don't have enough points left. With or without it we just pay out of pocket for those meals for a day or two.
