I think I'm the biggest plan changer on earth. It's rediculous! :upsidedow

2012..first it was thanksgiving, then 4th of July, then June bdays. In fact I'm supposed to call on Wednesday morning to book next June. BUT NOT NOW....I suggested to the family about going in August due the lower points. Hubby said can we go a day longer by moving to August?:confused3 Well..the answer was YES!:dance3: If we move the trip to August we can go for 8 days instead of 7! We may sweat more, but oh well...I'd rather sweat in Disney then in PA!! :sunny: We must be NUTS! We went in August 2009 and it was HOT...hotter than hot! I told Ashley we'll still celebrate her Bday and get her birthday ears to wear. She said she's fine with that since we can stay a day longer! :bday:

WE ARE NUTS!!! :rotfl2::hyper:

We go every year in August so I will be sweating right along with you!!!

Summer trips are great. We went the last two years in August and this year we'll be there the last week of July. It isn't crazy to want more days at Disney, so change if you must!!

We did September once, our first trip in fact and it was pretty darn hot. I am guessing August is hotter? I don't think I'm that brave. ;)

Our first trip with the DGC was during that second half of August when the points were a bit lower. It was hot. You know it will be, but I really don't see much of a difference between July and August. We were there for one DS's actual birthday!

I wonder if these are your final thoughts!:lmao:

Hey-an extra day is an extra day!!

And I am CONSTANTLY changing my mind. DH was so happy I finally had to pay the balance of our non-refundable vacation so I couldn't change the plans again. I not only change when, but where & how long on the vacations. My family all say that until we are on our way to not count on it being the final decision. And even then, things sometimes change mid stream.....

It's good to know I'm not the only one. Sometimes I feel like I should be attending meetings of Plan-Changers Anonymous, if there ever was such a thing. :rotfl:

I'm so happy I'm not alone in the plan changers club lol

My husband thinks it's hilarious that I have plans written down through 2014. He knows I'll NEVER keep them as is

Even earlier this afternoon after I figured out the extra day I said...how about 2 days in VB? They said OK! Then I said...well no because I'd sit on that beach and dream about WDW! Or...should we? I could possibly swap SSR for VB. The points are nearly identical....see ---> :teacher: :rotfl:

Well nevermind about August lol

After much thought and consensus with everyone I know we have decided visiting for our actual birthdays is a lot more precious than just adding a day onto the trip! :lovestruc

I just called MS and was able to get a Value Two Bedroom Villa at Jambo for all 4 nights June 13-17!!! Now I just need to call on Sunday and cross my fingers for a treehouse!

Who's gone to WDW for their birthdays before? What tips can you give me to make it extra special?

Sometimes, the CM's do make things extra special and sometimes they don't. If you want to be sure that each birthday is recognized, I would make arrangements on my own and then be surprised if Disney does go the extra mile for your family.

We ate on my birthday at CG( it was my 61st, I was so sad when I turned 60, I didn't celebrate it at all! That's the pits, now I appreciate and will celebrate each and every one!) and we got a free photo of the two of us and had pixie dust sprinkled on our table, and this June 10th was the 45th anniversary of the day DH and I met. During our stay, a CM brought an autographed picture of Goofy and Max with a Mickey pin and congratulations on 45 years of happiness!:lovestruc

There were other times that birthdays were mentioned. I'm glad I bought a gift bag for DH's 60th birthday a few years ago, because the staff did nothing for him, well, except at Whispering Canyon...they made a fuss, they sure did, but the wine and gifts that I got from a local person who had been mentioned on the Disboards, but no longer does them, were the real surprise for him!

Wendy, I just checked my dates, and I'll be solo in a value studio, June 10 to 15th! We overlap,:thumbsup2 and I would love to say Hi in person to you! We could be neighbors!

Bobbi that would be AWESOME!!!

I know you are going in December too right? What are your dates for then?

December 9 to 13 with DH, then I'm staying to the 16 solo.

After that trip, it's my long stay Dec. 29 through the end of January to escape some of Ohio's winter.

I'll be leaving the boards soon, we're in power outage, and my iPad is near 50%, so I should save it for emergencies.

... and I did two things:

Wore my birthday button the entire trip.

Didn't go in expecting anything.

I ended up with several nice birthday moments. Many CM's wished me "Happy Birthday". A CM in Epcot serenaded me. His hometown was in my general area, so we ended up having a nice conversation about the Chicago suburbs. A CM at the popcorn cart in DHS gave me a free hot cocoa. I got an ice cream sundae at T-REX (our only TS meal that trip). During MVMCP, POTC was a walk on. The four members of our family ended up having a boat to ourselves, so the CM said it was a birthday present.

Nothing was really big, but it did make for some magical moments. If you are really worried about not having anything special happen, by all means, plan something special. Since our trip was a somewhat last minute, bonus trip, any birthday magic I received was just icing on the cake!

That sounds great Sarah!! We went for my husband's birthday in January and he wore birthday ears the whole time so he got lots of Bday attention. I don't plan on being so obvious lol. I'll wear a bday button like you but probably no ears!

You arrive just as we are leaving in December!

So next summer it is!!! :goodvibes

I was going to post about our hot trips in May and October, but now I see you are back to June. It'll all be good.

I had to arrange my own birthday (60th) celebration last Jan-Feb and did the Wild Africa Trek. I wore the birthday button, and got well-wishes, but DH has had much better luck getting repeat rides on ToT and seating in the front of attractions, and lots of cupcakes, and pics of Donald (his namesake) and Mickey. I'll just keep trying! :thumbsup2

Oh Debbie great idea! Wild Africa Trek would be so fun for a birthday treat! Did you enjoy it?
