Well this being our third trip to Universal we amped it up a bit.
This time we stayed at Royal Pacfic instead of Double Tree. The Express Pass that comes with the room is a god send, even in this somewhat slow time. Also bought the one for HH, worth every penny, Sunday Night was showing two hours wait for some of these houses. Although they are amazing, they are not two hour waiit amazing. We did all houses from 7 to 12am. We were disappointed in the scare zones, no where near as good as 2010, our last trip.
Still trying to wrap my head around the food prices and what you get for it. At HH we stopped for two slices and one pop and it was over $20. Thats fine but the pizza looked and tasted like came from the near by Scare zone, that wasn't but what can you do?
I love Transformers ride, yes its Spiderman all over again but so what I still loved it. The Mummy never gets old. My bigest surprise was Gringotts Mine Train, the theming was worth the wait but the ride was ho hum for us, we actually did Forbidden Journey mutiple times. Enjoyed that way better. The train between parks was cool, love how they got around people seeing 'backstage'.
Hope disney will be as good but I think this Fastpass+ is going to screw things up. Legacy wasn't perfect but it allowed you way more flexibility than this new crap. Universal was great for doing stuff on the fly, Disney I'm planned to the max and not happy about it.OH well, I paid for it and I'm going to damn well love it!

I agree about Gringotts. It was neat, but Forbidden Journey was amazing and we rode it a few times. Also, neither my husband or I knew anything about The Mummy. It was awesome and we gladly went on multiple times.

I think once they get Gringotts working optimally, it will make a difference. No water, no heat, no fog makes a big difference. I'd like them to amp up the programming a bit, too, to give more movement in the vehicles during the video scenes. Personally, I prefer Gringotts to FJ but I think it is great that there are so many excellent rides that people seem to have different favourites. It is important that different rides are aimed towards different demographics and they still are enjoyable my everyone. We had everyone from my six year old niece to my 88 year old mother on Gringotts. There is no way we could all do Mummy or even Forbidden Journey, so we were really pleased with that.

We rode Gringotts for the first time this past weekend, and I definitely agree that it is great for the whole family as far as smooth, etc. My ride chicken says it went to her first fave in both parks, passing Transformers and FJ which were her two tops before. We found the entire area to be REALLY well done, and while I would love for them to amp up some of the ride motions, we did really enjoy the ride.
