Had a 6:10 a.m. flight from Chicago and arrived at VGC around 11...we now are waiting for our room which we were told is on the third foor, PP view...hoping the lists of requests I sent comes through and we get an awesome view. Unfortunateley its pouring and freezing here!! The resort is beautiful and we have already tried Whitewater Snacks..yum. The ride from the airport was our first thrill ride as the driver was pushing 90 when we got out of the crazy airport traffic! :scared1: So anxious to get into the room and settle in before dinner at House of Blues.. and for this rain to stop so we can walk around the pool. Will post more later..gonna sit and enjoy the rocking chair by the fireplace!

Hope the weather improves for you soon (unlike Jack I am not so keen on 'those rainy days with decreased crowds':goodvibes - not long now before we go too)

Keep us posted on crowd levels if you can

Hi

I am wondering how the weather and crowds were today too. I had no idea that spring break was this week. Oops!

Thanks

Stay warm and dry. We loved having a hot buttered rum (from the Hearthstone Lounge) in said rocking chair by said fire.:thumbsup2

Tomorrow is supposed to be clear and cold, but the rain returns on Wed. :sad1:

Enjoy your view room and the villas. Oh and DLR :)

Today was awful and hopefully won't be so bad the rest of the week! My son turns 4 tomorrow so we'll be heading over for a few hours...since it's the only dry day this week I'm hoping it isn't packed. Last week wasn't too bad. Hope you stayed warm and dry and enjoy the rest of your trip! :)

Thanks!

Why was today awful? Was it raining? Were there a lot of crowds?

Yesterday was our first of five days in the park. We had a fantastic time and compared to what we were expecting the crowds were very manageable. I saw a picture of the rope drop a few days ago on here and it had me a little freaked out lol.

The lines weren't too bad, which I'm sure is because it absolutely poured for awhile in the morning.

Heading out for another day :)

It makes me wonder how April will be. I have gone in the past in April, at although it was busy by the afternoon, it was not terrible. But what with the AP monthly payment plan for So Ca. I wonder if that really is a major contributor to large capacity crowd levels? And then of course there is Spring Break.... :faint: ;)

Today was crowded around 1ish but we had done so many rides by then due to MM. We left around 2:15 for 3:00 dinner rsvp at House of Blues (horrible service and expensive even with 50$ gift certificate thru restaurant.com). We all wore capris and tshirts and had a jacket on and off but came back now for sweatshirts and will try to see fantasmic. The resort is very nice although we got here at 11 a.m. but didnt get our room till 5 p.m. yesterday and my DH was ill from antibodics and pain pills for dental pains he started having this weekend..but that is another story and I got to catch up with my family who are using their FP from earlier.. More later.

Ooh sounds tasty, might have to try!!! Thanks!!

Well DD didn't feel well (i think a combination of time difference, exhaustion and a faster SM than WDW) so after a ride on Buzz, we came back to the room and I pulled back the curtains and enjoyed WOC from the comfort of my oversized chair with the music on tv. It was perfect! I am sure I will like it even better in person but not dealing with the crowd was great. My DH and other DD stayed at DL and just texted to say crowd is insane and park announced it was open until midnight. Haven't heard the weather for tomorrow but we have rsvp at that bbq "show" (sorry name fails me right now) for a late lunch. Hope rain isn't expected or I assume they don't serve in the rain. Thinking I understand why some of you don't mind rainy days to lesson the crowds. We typically do WDW on springbreak and deal with crowds but I am out of my element here and don't know the ins and outs! Well time for a drink and some rest to hit hard again in the a.m.!

Well we are just heading home. As the pp mentioned today the crowds were much larger than predicted and they extended the hours until midnight. We don't come that often with our AP and usually come in the off season. We were really disappointed with the amount of people and didn't realize this is spring break for many schools. We were only here for the day and didn't get to ride too many rides. We still had fun but were just blown away by how many people were visiting on a Tuesday in March. The wait for Indiana Jones was 95 minutes and the wait for Small World was so long too - I forgot to look. (Most rides were 45 min - 1 hr) The line was so long it went across the steet, wrapped around the building by the water area then back to winding before we reached the main entrance! (Maybe this is normal I just have never seen crowds like this). I think it was extra busy because of spring break and also today was the only day predicted this week for no rain. Yesterday, we were told was really slow. I hope the crowds slow down a bit for others of you visiting this week. :)

Today (tuesday) was crazy. We were here the same week last year and don't remember it being this bad.

We got a late start and were there at 10... a hour after opening and 2 hours after MM. The entry lines still streched almost to DCA.

The expected rain should make it better for the rest of the week.

Disneyfourme, it is difficult for someone that is familiar with WDW. Our first trip to DL was 2010, after literally 100+ trips to WDW. When you walk into DL, it is familiar enough to make you think you know what you are doing, but wait, at the end of Main Street, there is no Casey's on the left, and where is that castle anyway :goodvibes, once you get thru the castle, why isn't Philharmagic just around the corner and where did this Alice ride come from.

The biggest difference to me was the dining. When it is raining and so many places are closed down, where in the heck do you eat--just a couple of options.

And, it just isn't right to be able to see the Tower of Terror from inside DL or to see the train station from CA. What the heck, you are aren't supposed to be able to see one Disney park from inside another.

It is different, and so unique, and we have found we love both WDW and DL, for entirely different reasons.

One DL love is not having to wait and ride busses or to have to worry about transportation.

Make sure you see Aladdin in CA, worth waiting in line for, nothing like it in WDW. Also make sure you ride Indiana Jones in DL (you probably already have). If you get a chance, eat at Carnation Cafe', great potatoe soup. Take a round trip ride (from inside DL) on the monorail. So strange to us how it goes outside the park and you are actually riding along the highway. Actually, it was strange to us to get off I-5 and be right there at DL without having to drive another 10-15 minutes or so.

I hope you post a trip report when you get back. I love hearing from other WDW people about their thoughts on DL.

Have a great rest of your trip. We will be there in May in a one-bedroom at VGC, too. We just love that resort. I love it more than anything we have at WDW.

Thought of something else. If you get a chance, eat at Ariel's in CA, the lobster nachos and white sangria are delicious.

You can go to the Boudin restaurant and buy a loaf of bread to take back to your villa, and they will give you tons of butter to enjoy with it. Makes great toast in the morning.

I meant it was awful weather monday lol the rain and cold!

We went yesterday for my sons birthday and it was much more crowded than last week! In fact we left around 5 pm because we were just tired and didn't feel like waiting for anything else. We did have a good time and got most rides in before 1 pm. The garage was parking level four when we arrived so I wasn't expecting the park to be that full. Anyway, still had fun and the weather was decent so it was a successful trip :)

We might skip our weekly visit next week and head to the aquarium instead. I couldn't believe how long the line was for things like the matterhorn and pirates lol We will be back when the crowds leave.
