We are here now for a 3 night trip, 2 nights at the JW Marriott and tomorrow we move to the Grand Californian for 1 night. We wanted to be onsite for the Oogie Boogie Bash tomorrow. In case anyone is wondering about the JW, I can’t recommend it enough. Wow, this place is just gorgeous and super new! Room is great, super modern everything and service is spot on. The walk is so easy thru Garden Walk as well. To be honest, we are kind of wishing we were staying all 3 nights here.

Since this is a new hotel there wasn’t a ton of info on it so I thought I would share. We’re Hyatt people or on-site people and I can easily say we probably won’t stay anywhere else but here at the JW going forward. Please feel free to ask any questions!

I'm most curious about what breakfast in their executive lounge looks like but that probably isn't available right now.
Also curious if they have bath salts and complimentary slippers. Hotels in the US often don't put these in the room but a JW Marriott may have them if you call the front desk.

Thank you for the review. I've been thinking that I will stay there at some point. It looks like about half the price of the Grand, but with about double the luxury hotel feel.
So we checked out this morning after 2 nights and now are at the Grand Californian. It’s a very pretty room but nothing that knocks your socks off. You really are paying for location and ease of having your own security checkpoint to get thru. Next time we come back we will stay at the JW.

That I can’t help you with but that all sounds amazing!

How are the food options at JW? Is there a good variety? Not talking about any restaurants outside the hotel itself.

FWIW, the new Westin does have complimentary slippers. No bath salts but the room we had didn't have a tub anyway, only a large walk in shower.

You will want to take the exit just to the right of the check in desk then walk thru garden walk to the harbor entrance. For my husband and I it was about 12 minutes. A very easy walk!
that's good to know that you can go through Garden Walk. The main street side path (Katella) makes it look rather far. We've parked at then Pumba parking many times in then past and this feels reasonable.

Honestly we never ate inside the hotel, always in the parks. I will say it smelled great though! Btw free bottles of water whenever you ask!

It’s a pretty nice perk actually havi g a back door out of the hotel into garden walk. It was a .7 mile walk to the harbor security.

We ate at both Parkestry and Citriculture (lobby bar). Nothing else was open when we stayed. We loved Citriculture. Excellent food and fantastic service. We stayed right when you could start dining indoors again. The food at Parkestry was good, but super overpriced. We had the sliders and could not believe how tiny they were for the price. We decided to leave and go finish up eating at Citriculture. Lol. We also loved the hotel. The only bummer was the steep valet parking price. There’s no self park. Otherwise it was awesome! Glad you’re enjoying your stay OP!

Random question - is the walk through Garden Walk stroller accessible? I watched a YouTube video of someone talking about the walk and it looked like their might be stairs?

Does GardenWalk close at all? Can I stroll back at 11pm or midnight and be ok?

The latest we came back was 10:30 and it was wide open and a band playing at the outdoor Mexican restaurant there. The escalator was stopped, but we just walked up it. There’s really no doors to garden walk so I think it should be open no problem!
