We have an Adr for Ohana breakfast tomorrow but now kids don't want characters, but do want breakfast buffet. Ideas?? We've had Ohana breakfast and like it, but if they are going to be grumpy about characters, I don't want to do it (or pay to see them). I know Ohana isn't really a buffet, but eat as much as you like. Have teen kids and thought they'd go along with it as we don't do characters in parks anymore, but I was wrong. :(
They've grown up too fast.

Boma, The Wave, Captain's Grille. If Boma is sold out the other two should not be.

Boma is our favorite breakfast buffet on property. No characters but lots of animals... Possibly a nice trade off for teens.

Another one to mention that has not yet been mentioned is Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge. They have an all you care to eat breakfast skillet that is pretty decent. The Wave which has already been mentioned is one of the best buffets in WDW. I also like Boma, but it is a royal pain to get to from another resort and takes up so much time if it is a park day. When we do Boma it is always either a non park day or a park that we planned on arriving to well after rope drop.

I would tell them to suck it up. You can ask that the characters skip your table so that your teens don't have to interact with them. I would eat wherever the food looks the best to you, and tell the teens the will be just fine and can deal with seeing the characters from afar.

Our family's favorite breakfast on property is at the Swan's Garden Grove. Great food and service, with a custom omelette station ( will also make eggs as you like) for the breakfast buffet.

Weekends only it's a character breakfast so we go during the week.

I hear Boma is really awesome...I am excited to try that on our next trip down there. Also good are The Wave, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Kona Cafe, & I have heard Trails End is good but we have never tried it before

Thanks everyone for your replies. We ended up having breakfast at the Kona Cafe. I really didn't want to pay the 'Ohana prices so though, yes, they "could" have sucked it up at the 'Ohana breakfast, I didn't want to do that or pay for the characters. I was able to get a reservation at Kona and we were all happy there. For about 1/2 of the cost, we were adequately filled (not overly stuffed which tends to happen at buffets with us) and were able to have nearly the same ambiance and nearly the same food. It wasn't buffet, but really, one plate of food is plenty anyway! One big plus - the same JUICE! Yum! They called it something different, but the waitress told us that it is the same. They get it from a local source and it is available only at WDW.
