Here now . . . (June 1-7) VERY hot

Me too. But I didn't think it was that hot today?!?

Depends on where in Florida you are. We're in Sarasota, had torrential rain yesterday evening and the result was sauna-like weather today. Temperature-wise, probably no hotter than earlier in the week, but the humidity and lack of a breeze made it awful.

We're going in the middle of August. It can't be a hell of a lot worse than New York City, which is often above 100 with ridiculous humidity, and very little shade.

I have a couple of friends there right now and they are scared about how hot it is during the afternoon. I told them Florida in June were a crazy idea but because they are from Brazil they thought they could handle it. Nope, they tried staying from rope drop till closing at MK but by 3PM they were beaten and had to leave.

And that is why I rather go in February or November.

The St. Louis area can be extremely hot and humid in the summer too--but I'm usually going from house (air conditioned) to car (air conditioned) to work (air conditioned) and not walking in it for miles! BUT to help combat the effects, we are going to continue to walk (we've been walking to build up our muscles and stamina for the parks) in the heat and humidity so that maybe our bodies will get more adjusted to it. Its a good theory anyway, right??

As our kids were growing up, trips were always July or August. We refused to consider taking them out of school. For the past few years we were able to pick 'cooler' months (one October was record-breaking heat). Now that the grandkids are reaching school-age we're back to summer. Trying to get back to - 'I know it will be hot, we know we'll sweat, but it's still Disney!'

Seriously though, am I going to die of heat in August? Coming from NY. This is a bad idea isn't it.

It doesn't matter if you're from the northeast, or the deep south like us. July, August and September in Florida is about as hot and humid as it gets, with intense sun. (We won't go from mid-May til late October.)

Joshsmom. We are from St Louis also ( now kive in Ohio) we were just talking about how we will feel like we are back home next week when we are in DW. We plan on split days with swim breaks

We are going in 2 1/2 weeks and I'm a bit concerned about the heat since we haven't been in the summer in quite some time. But I will say after a very FRIGID trip in 2008 I vowed to never complain about the heat again. It was bone chilling and very miserable. But I am a lifelong southern and can handle the heat much much better than the cold.

I love being able to use walk around the park and not feel like I'm opening the oven door and getting inside with the turkey every time I step outside of a building. I'm glad I can pick colder months to go, I feel better the colder it gets.

It's not. As you probably know, Florida hot is highs in the mid-90s (or higher) for weeks at a time, with nightly lows around 80.

I don't think it's hot today, either. I just didn't want to be the only one to say it. Glad someone else did. :thumbsup2

Even so, I'm sure it is crowded, which is why I don't go in the summer.

My favorite part of Cent Florida heat is when it's mid 80s and 90% humidity at eleven o'clock at night.

Yes, it was hot today. I was at Sea World and was melting..lol..The new penguin area was heaven (and its cold in there) It was 92 here today but is now 77 with clouds and rain rolling in. Summer in FL. has begun. May was cooler than usual this yr, which was nice, but makes it difficult to adjust to the abrupt summer heat and humidity. The next 5 month will not be nice ..lol

30 minutes from WDW. Between Tampa and Orlando.

I love it hot! We went once in January and I hated it. The key is rope drop in the morning, pool and a drink in the afternoon. Can't wait for my hot, humid Disney vacation!!

I love swimming at Disney in June because it is so hot! I am never cold, I really love that!

We have been several times in June and we know it is hot and you sweat in places you didn't know could sweat like that!

We know what we are in for when we visit in 12 days for 2 weeks. We are excited!!

:)

Arrived yesterday. It was warm but cloudy. Today is SUPER hot. We have Frogg Toggs and mister fans, but it is HOT!! We have tried to stay in as much as we can, Little Mermaid, etc. as son as we leave an attraction it feels like we are melting. This is gross, but literally sweat rolling down your head and your back. Yuck!! I'm from the South and thought we would be okay, but we are pretty miserable. I love Disney, but never again in the summer.

Well, I live close to WDW and can tell you that it is not very hot. IMO.

We went this week for 3 years and we finally said never again! It's just too dang hot and humid.
