We've been here for a few days, and have 7 more to go! Being DVC members, we've eaten pretty much everywhere, multiple times, but we still enjoy eating @ Disney. We So far, so good!
Chef Mickey's - Have had subpar food and service here for years, but keep going back as kids like it. Ate dinner the other night, and it was clean, fresh/hot food, and the best server ever! It was our baby's 3rd birthday, and they brought him a cupcake and Minnie came over. The characters were a bit rushed, and it took Donald over 1 hour to get to our section, but other than that, it was good!
T-Rex - Had dinner last night, and it was great! Kids ate buttered pasta/garlic toast, chicken nuggets/mashed potatoes, and we had appetizer sampler (hubby ate as a meal, as it's very substantial), and roasted chicken breast/veggies/mashed potatoes. It was very good! Great service and the atmosphere is fabulous! We like it much better than Rainforest - this will be a must-do for us each trip. Glad we are Safari Club members, as they got me out of huge line up of walk-ups, and we were seated before our 6:00 priority seating time.
Tusker House - Ate lunch yesterday on 4th for a walk-up @ 11:30 when restaurant first opened. It was pretty empty, and so we got fresh and hot food, and a great server! We love this buffet, as the food is great: couscous, roasted meats, veggies, breads, salads and desserts. Yummy!
Tony's - Ate for lunch, and it wasn't that good. Usually, for the family food that it is, it's ok, but the sauce seemed to have changed, and hubby's garlic toast had a bug on it. We promptly send the toast back to kitchen, and they comped his meal. Kids enjoyed their meatballs, as usual, and our server was fabulous.
We've also eaten at a few CS places - we don't care for CS, so don't eat it often at all, but kids needed something to eat, and we were in between waiting on fastpasses, so we ate at:
Cosmic Rays- Pretty much one of only a few CS places we'll eat at, but it was disappointing this time. Chicken was so dry, it was almost unedible. Ribs were good, and soup was great!
Artist's Palette - Turkey sandwiches, nuggets for kids and chicken ceasar salad. It was good as well.
Today we are eating at Crystal Palace for lunch, and kids are very excited for that, as it's one of our favs!
In case anyone is wondering - we have TIW card, so no dining plan. We like it much better as kids usually eat adult meals.
So far, pretty good service and food! And, since crowds have been low, there are walk-ups available. We always make ADRs months in advance, but do have to change schedules a bit (like yesterday), so walk-ups are appreciated!
