I just got this from Discovery Cove and I wanted to share with everyone

Dear Peggy, Thank you for contacting Discovery Cove. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you with planning your adventure.
Your dolphin interaction will automatically be photographed and videotaped and you needn't worry about asking anyone for this service. Following the interaction, your photographer will accompany you to a viewing cabana where they will show you your photos and a DVD segment and explain the packages available. The DVD includes the entire 30 minute interaction of the group of 8. You may see random photographers in the Aviary or Tropical River and these photographs can be added to your CD as well.

For anyone who might be questioning if it's worth the money -- ABSOLUTELY! Also, when I inquired about the price of purchasing an extra CD for my mom, the photographer told me you can make your own copies -- no need to purchase another CD. I'm sure he could have made more money from selling another copy, but he was completely honest! I loved that!

I love my marble tile. After 6 visits to Discovery Cove, I have enough photos to paper my apartment with. However, the last time I did the interaction with a dolphin I had never met before and wanted something to remember her by. So I got the marble tile. This looks so nice.

Thanks so much for posting this...so...if I want the photo cd and the interaction dvd

if I'm buying the package w/ the dvd my total will be $189/$201.29...

is that right?

Scrappinmom, YES it would be $201.29 . I know that seems like alot but you have all the photos taken on the cd and you can print as many photos you wish , so I think its a good deal. Also I think thous memories of your trip will be priceless

oh I agree...I"m just trying to pay cash for everything this trip & since the WDW package and my DC tickets are already paid for...trying to save save save for all the extra money...I'm thinking DC might end up being a $450 extra day! Between the pics/dvd and gift shop! Oh well, I'm looking at it as we're probably only going to be able to afford to go once every 4 or 5 trips.....

Unfortunately I have been unable to take a photo of it due to the shinieness of the marble. It is about the size of a C6 envelope and black marble. The photo is engraved on it by laser.

Cultural difference again. A C6 envelope is about the most common size for envelopes in the UK. Essentially think about a standard letter size note pad and fold a sheet in half and then in half again so that you have 4 quarters. The tile is about the size of one of those quarters.

Around 20photos would be a more likely minimum for most guests, but there are opportunities for many additional photos.

In the dolphin interaction each of you will individually have photos taken for kisses, rides, and possibly for hugs/belly rubs (depending on pool, trainer, and dolphin), and then an opportunity for a family shot with the dolphin. You could try asking to step out of the family shot for a few additional of just the girls, but it would be too much to ask to step in just by yourself after that (or for each girl). The dolphins only have a specific amount of fish that have to be fed after each pose/trick so the trainers try to avoid giving them too much for setting up things over and over. It's understandable to want all of the possible photos but the dolphins work hard all day and the trainers do what they can to limit their stresses and keep the interactions fun.

In other areas like the aviary or ray lagoon you can ask the photographers to try and get individual shots and a group. They will usually follow you for a few moments and shift around the group getting shots of interactions. If it is busy they can only try their best because many other families will be around wanting photos as well. If it is slow a photographer will welcome an opportunity to take a ton of photos and spend time with a family.

That sounds like a fantastic keepsake. We're hoping to visit DC in 2010 - I hope they still have these on offer then.

BTW - The dimensions of a C6 envelope are 11.4 x 16.2 cm.

Wow thank you Violet Crayon, for all that info I didn't know they would take that many photos during are stay at discovery cove. The photo CD is even a better buy for us !

I'll add here that the photo/dvd package is totally worth the expense! We had a ton of pictures taken - you can ask for a photo both alone and with your family for the dolphins, we also had several pics in the stingray lagoon, the aviary and by the waterfall.
