Here is my quote from a travel agent for WDW at a Value Resort in Value Season

If you are Fl resident, there are AP and Fl resident discounts for the family suites at ASMu. For Sept, the rate is 140.00 per night. Of course, that is just room only and no package. We have stayed at Cypress Pointe several times--you will love it!!

"Don't say it Shasta!, keep your mouth shut"

Nevermind.

one other thought if you really want to stay on-site... check out the dvc boards and inquire about renting points to stay at a villa (one or two bedroom would hold your family)... it's likely less expensive and also has a kitchen (and washer/dryer, which for two weeks i would think is pertinent)

A one bedroom is still for 4 people..One king and a pull out couch, plus the pack and play. They would need a 2 bedroom which would still be costly. :confused3

Why are you going with a package??? A family suite based on FL resident rate is $2.059(2 rooms, 2 tvs, 2 bathrooms, and all the kids in one room and mom and dad in the other w/ the door open of course). plus buy Seasonal passes for the 2 older children, your wife and you,$895. Thats less than $3000 plus you have tickets for a year with black out dates, 2 weeks christmas and new years, week before and after Easter and mid jun to mid Aug, But otherwise the tickets are good any other day of the year plus you can park hop at no additional fee. Plus with the suite you will get a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Even if you decide to stay off site definitely get the seasonal pass, its cheaper and you can come back several times over the year. maybe even upgrade 1 of (the kid's pass) to an AP so you can get free parking. If staying offsite it will cost $10 a day to park and a kids AP is $110 more than a seasonal so for 14 days you are actually saving money by upgrading the 1 pass. An adult's AP is about $130 more. Break even and then all future parking is free for the year.

Plus you can get some discounts at some sit down restaurants at Epcot for lunch and some dinner discounts at DTD. go to www.disneyworld.com/floridaresident for more info.

Another thing, I saw where you mentioned military rate. If you're military check into Shades of Green, the MWR facility at WDW. It's a wonderful property, I have had friends stay there that compared it to a Disney Deluxe as far as amenities. Great location too, right across from Poly and GF.

If you want to stay on property, I'd definitely be looking at the discounted room-only rate at the cabins at Fort Wilderness. I'd skip the dining plan completely and buy your tickets beforehand from a reputable ticket broker.

I'd work out the $ for you, but I'm not clear on what your actual dates are....

I have done the math and I think if I buy seasonal FL resident tickets and go at least twice a year I am ahead. Any visits over 2 times a year are free admission.

I still can't find out if that is free parking for SP's.

I am sure we are staying offsite for $45.00 a night at cypress pointe resort in a 3 bedroom and will eat in kitchen and pack lunch and take bottled water.

thanks for the help and any comments on this plan appreciated.

Yes, we just stayed at SOG in April. It sleeps 5 plus we had 2 cribs in the room. We stayed for $103 a night and you get the largest rooms on the WDW property. Itis a beautiful resort. Check into it....if they are full you get an overflow rate for one of the other WDW resorts.

Forgot to mention you can purchase your tickets at the SOG when you get there for a discounted price.

with the cost of the 2 rooms, couldn't you stay at POR which has room for 5 plus a child under 3. You'd get bigger pools/slides and probably save on the hotel cost....
