I'm new here but last Sat 2/14/04 was about my sixth time joining WW. A little about myself, I'm 26, have been married 7 1/2 years to my husband and we have two sons Bryon 3, and Brady 2, I also work full time so my hands are kinda full right now. I weighed in last week at an all time high of 232.6:( I didn't offically start the plan until Sun 2/15/04 due to going out for Valentines Day. I have done very well all week though, it's actually been easy (I know that feeling will not last). I have even only used 1 flex point this week:teeth: So needless to say I am excited about my weigh in tomorrow!!! Wish me luck:wizard:

Holly

Hi, Hlane! Here's some :wizard: for that scale tomorrow! I hope your weigh-in goes well. Like several of us journaling here, I count points, too. I've stopped going to WW meetings, though--I figure I've given them enough money over the years to put DD through college (and maybe even grad school!:p ). Best wishes on your weight loss journey. Onward and Downward!

Holly, welcome to the WISH Journal board!! There are lots of people counting WW points around here. We all support each other, no matter what eating plan we've chosen.

I've found that journaling my food has really helped me stay on track and the support of others here keeps me going. Also, I learn so much from the journeys of my WISH friends.

Best wishes on your healthy living journey and good luck with weigh-in tomorrow!! :sunny:

Welcome, welcome!!! :wave2: and good luck! I hope you have great results tomorrow; it will help keep you so positive. Just remember, it is just one week and not all weeks are created equal. Have fun journaling and let us know if you have any questions--we're all here for you. :sunny:

hi and welcome to journaling! i too count ww points :)

good luck with weigh in :bounce:

I had my first weigh in today and lost 1.2 lbs. I was hoping for more but I'm still happy!! :Pinkbounc

Yay! I was on earlier looking for your results; I'm so glad you had a successful week--Keep it up and congrats!

I am having a rough time today staying on plan!!!:worried: It's 6pm and I still have 11 points (which is good for me) and all my flex points left but I just keep having cravings that are hard to control. DH isn't much of a help. We just went grocery shopping and he bought a frozen pizza (pizza is my favorite), by the time we got home I was starving. Now I know one or two pieces of pizza wouldn't have hurt but it's the point of stopping at that. I have also learned what will keep me feeling satisified in the next few hours and what won't, two pieces of pizza won't. Anyways I was strong, even with DH telling me to just eat the pizza, the kids sitting in front of me eating Twix (I know I must have been drooling, LOL) I ate a healthy, filling dinner and feel good. Now I just have to make it to bed time without blowing it, I'm sure I'll be fine but at least now with me writing about it I'll feel accountable.

Well it's 9:30pm and I made it! It's bedtime and I used my additional 11 points but stopped before touching my flex points. I did an exercise tape, cleaned, did laundry, gave the kids a bath, feed them, and put them to bed to keep my self busy. Using 11 points while still doing all that!! Can you imagine had I been sitting around bored!!:earseek: On top of not going over my points I also drank all my water for the 8th day in a row (there should be a counter for that, like the days w/o cheating one), and exercised for the first time. I am very proud of me!!:teeth:

WTG! You made it! I'm not sure what you're eating during the day, but maybe spreading your points out throughout the day will eliminate the cravings later at night. Just a thought. Good job on the exercise! Just ease into and try different things until you find something you like. Have a great day! Keep up the good work! :)

Congratulations Holly for holding out against the cravings. Darn those sabotaging husbands! You know what you can do. For me, I can put out the portion and I just savor every bite (6 tortilla chips at a Mexican place is my limit. I put them on a napkin and break them into little pieces to make them last while everyone else finishes the basket!!)!

You did a great thing by filling in that time with activities. That's why I always do better on the weekends. During the week, I'm just sitting at my desk in front of the PC, and nothing to stop me munching away!

Welcome to DIS and WISH! Lisa

Hi Holly and Welcome to journaling. I am also doing WW, so if you have any questions, ask away!:D
I find night time cravings are my biggest pitfall, even when I am not trying to loose weight. I have set my own goal of not eating past 7 pm. That is when I usually go for the bad stuff:rolleyes: . It was a struggle at first, but it is definitely getting easier as I go along. I would usually eat because of habit or from boredom. One hint, is keep "legal" food in the house. That way if you just "have to eat", there is something there that is on plan. I like to keep FF microwave popcorn on hand for my nighttime snacking. The whole bag is only 5 pts!
Sounds like you are off to a good start. WTG!:teeth:

I am at 9 cheat free days plus I have drank at least 8-8oz servings of water every day!!!! I have to say this is a first for the water thing, and a first for me not focusing every minute of everyday on my "diet" which actually makes me eat more. This time I am looking at it as a lifestyle change not a diet and that's helping. Yesterday I was pretty sick so I want to bed still having 7.5 points left, but today I'm feeling better. So far so good today.

Breakfast
1 serving of oatmeal-2 points
2 special K waffles-2 points
1/2 serving of syrup-2 points
16 oz bottle of water-0 points

Snack
1 cup of grapes-1 point
16 oz bottle of water-0 points

21 points left for the day

I have to go get ready for work but I will continue posting my menu when I get home tonight. I am going to try to start doing this everyday & hopefully it will help keep me on track.

Sounds like your off to a good start today Holly! WTG!::yes::
9 cheat free days - thats awesome! Definitely looking at this as a new way of life is the way to go. Diet means there is an ending date. This is something we need to learn to live with. Once we get to goal, we can ease up a little, but we can't go back to our old ways.
I'm sorry you weren't feeling good yesterday. I hope you are better today. Here's some :sunny: for your day today! Enjoy!

hey holly, you're doing a great job staying cheat free and getting in that water! :bounce: and good for you for realizing this is a life change, not a diet. because that's what it really is. you're doing this to be a healthier you, congrats :)

sorry you were feeling sick for a few days, but i'm glad that you are feeling better today. hope the rest of your day goes well :sunny:

Well I still have about an hour left at work and we're slow so I figured I'd go ahead and post the rest of my meals from today. I work 2pm-1030pm and get up about 7:30am with my kids so I end up eating more times then the regular B,L,D. I know some people say don't eat after a certain time at night but I've found that just doesn't work for me while working this shift.
Anyways here's my list....

28 points/35 flex
Breakfast
1 serving of oatmeal-2 points
2 special K waffles-2 points
1/2 serving of syrup-2 points
16 oz bottle of water-0 points

Snack
2 slices of lc high fiber bread-1 point
2 slices of ff bologna-1 point
1 cup of grapes-1 point
16 oz bottle of water-0 points

Lunch
Smart One-3 points
Choc ice cream cup-2 points
16 oz bottle water-0 points

Dinner
Smart One-4 points
1 cup brussel sprouts-0 points
Choc ice cream cup-2 points
16oz bottle water-0 points

Total-20 points
8 points/35 flex points left

I think when I get home I will stop by Wendy's and get a grilled chicken sandwich and a chili or salad and have a water. BTW I have also been caffeine free for 9 days now!!!::yes::

Update- Got off work, went to Wendy's

Grilled Chicken Sandwich-6 points
1/2 a small chili-2 points
small ice water-0 points

Total for day 28 points.

Holly - you are doing wonderful!:hyper: No problem eating more often. It is actually better to eat 5 or 6 small meals during the day instead of the usual big 3. So you are actually doing yourself a favor, as long as your still staying within your pts - which you did!::yes::
Awesome job giving up the caffine. I've cut back, but haven't given it up yet
Have a great day! :sunny:

Holly, you're doing a great job!! You're drinking your water - that helps so much! You're managing your points well. You're tackling those nasty cravings. You're truly learning healthy habits that will last you a lifetime!! ::yes::

You're married, have 2 little guys under 4 years old, work....AND you're doing healthy things for you!! You're amazing!

By the way, how many months are there between your boys? I had my 2nd (a girl) when my 1st (a boy) was 18 months old. It was tough until the youngest turned 3 - amazing how much easier things got then!!

Keep going, Holly, day by day, step by step! :sunny:

Sharon & Doreen,

Thanks for the encouragement, it really helps! Today has been a good one but I'm just exhausted already and still have about 12 hours to go. Hopefully if I start exercising that will give me more energy, I just hate sweating and being hot:faint: I hope I'm able to hold it together at work today as far as my eating goes. I work in a hospital and my department is right around the corner from the gift shop (TONs of candy and snacks). To make it even worse we can have purchases in the gift shop, cafateria, & deli taken directly out of our checks using our badge so not taking any money doesn't even help:mad: Oh well I've made it this far I'm gonna keep going:moped: (I love the little smilies if you can't tell:teeth: ). BTW Doreen, my boys are almost 16 months apart, they are good kids just very active, even more reason for me to need more energy. Ok well I'm off to work, I will post my menu tonight.
Hope everyones day is going well!!

hey holly, you're doing a great job! keep up the great work. spreading out your points throughout the entire days seems like a great plan for you. especially since you have such long days, you *need* to eat later into the night, otehrwise, i expect you'd crash and burn. great job avoiding the *evil* gift shop. that must be so hard to resist! and the other places wher eyou don't need "real money".

i hope that you will be able to find the time to exercise, it really does make a difference. i know you're busy, but if you do have the time, it would be great! even if you do a video every once in a while, that's a great way to start. i know you said you don't like getting hot and sweaty, but sometimes, ya just gotta do it :p . and you will feel wonderful afterwards :teeth:

hope the rest of your day went well :sunny:
