Here are some movies you might see on DCL

I was curious which movies might be shown on the Disney ships over the next few months. So I looked on the Web and made the following list. I can't promise which of these movies will be in the Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Magic on movie night, which will be in the Buena Vista Theatre, and which won't be shown at all. But they all seem like candidates for DCL. (And DCL is also likely to hold over some of the movies that are currently playing.)

what about before february 6th
The dates shown are the U.S theatrical release dates (on dry land) of selected upcoming movies from distributors owned by Disney. In some cases, a movie will have a "PremEAR at Sea" on the same date.

I didn't notice any releases between now and February 6th that I thought were likely to be shown on the ships.

As far as other movies "before February 6th," those would be primarily Disney movies from the recent past, some movies from other Disney-owned distributors, and a sprinkling of non-Disney movies. (The non-Disney movies are typically in second-run cinemas or on video by the time DCL shows them.)

Some recent Disney movies include Brother Bear, The Haunted Mansion, and Teacher's Pet.

Perhaps recent cruisers can tell us what was actually shown on their cruises.

I believe you could add Lion King 1 1/2 to the list, which releases on February 10th.

Lion King 1 1/2 is direct-to-video.

I know that DCL shows theatrical sequels — we saw the 2002 theatrical animated movie, Return to Neverland (Peter Pan 2), in the Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Magic. But I'm not aware of any direct-to-video movies in the Walt Disney Theatre or the Buena Vista Theatre.

Does Disney ever make theatrical prints — in other words, movies on actual film reels — of direct-to-video movies for DCL?

Thanks Werner for the info. Hopefully, I can find time to see some of those flicks! I'll bring the Milk Duds just in case.

I am very glad to hear that in the past, Disney has premiered their films on the ships too. I was thinking (actually preparing for) that it might take a few weeks for them to show up on the ships.

My 12 year son's passion is ice hockey and it's killing him that he's going to miss his last regular season game for our vacation. What makes it worse is that Miracle comes out on the 6th but we'll be in the car starting our 19 hour drive to WDW that afternoon. Having the chance to see this movie while we're on the cruise should take care of his hockey fix for the vacation. We're at WDW Feb 7-12 then on the Wonder Feb 12 -- 16th for our first ever.

Thanks for the info.
