My SIL is getting married May 14, 2008 at SBP. I'm her MOH and her assistant planner.;) She hasn't much time to get online, and since I'm a SAHM right now and a Disney freak...I am happy to help. At this point, she has just announced to the rest of the family she's getting married at WDW. She's having an escape wedding with approx 16-17 guests.

She has nothing planned at this point. No dinner, no DP (but they want to do), flowers picked out, etc. What do you recommend she starts with? They joke that I'm the fire under her butt cuz she's a bit of a procrasinator and I'm type A.

I started a list of tips and ideas from everyone's planning journals and TR's. You've all be such a great help just from posting your experiences.

Start with the DP as that's the only thing that can be booked now. The dinner will be able to be booked 180 days in advance, so right now she can start thinking about where she wants to eat, but probably can't book it unless they make a special exception for a larger group, but I doubt they'd do it 11 months out.

your such a great MOH to be so involved & helping her out!!

We would love to help & answer any questions.

I would get her that wedding dvd & have her sit & watch it

Then have her contact DFTW re dates & locations...they go fast now & if its a hot date she would be put in the "lottery"

how exciting!!

Keep us posted & welcome to the boards!!

Disney wise I agree with the previous disers. Also, sit her down with some magazines, because the sounds of it she hasn't even thought about her/your dress(es). Also, it is good to get an idea of the flowers, colors, etc.

Thanks ladies. She actually already has her contract and is on for May 14th at 2:30 at SBP. We actually found both of our dresses at David's Bridal the other month. She went to try some on to see what she liked and instantly fell in love with "the" one. And my dress was there, we both liked it, and it was marked special value so I picked it up.

I sent her some links to brides here who had the DP party and it sounds like she really wants to do that, so I'll suggest to her she gets it started now.

She's unsure of where to have dinner, but we're set up for when to make calls. I'm actually a homebased travel agent so I'm able to help her with the regular DIsney vacation things.

She has never planned anything like this before and is feeling overwhelmed with all the choices and decisions to come. And thus she puts things off so she doesn't have to deal with it.

Thank you so much!
