We are leaving for Disney Aug 20th with a 17mo old. Any helpful hints for Disney and the airplane ride. I'm nervous!! We all really want to have a good time and help him enjoy the experience. Can he ride any rides in the park? And does anyone have any suggestions on how we can keep his sippy cup cold? :earsboy:

As for the flight, bring plenty of snacks and toys to play with. Try and buy some new small toys for the plane and don't let him see/play with them until you're in the air. The pressure may hurt his ears so have him drink on take off and landing, that should help.

He can go on any rides without a height requirement, and will love all of the rides in Fantasyland as well as others.

We had a freezer in our room, so we would fill sippy cup 1/2 way and freeze overnight. In the morning we'd add the rest and it took a while for the ice to melt.

I would plan on touring based on his schedule. If he can nap in his stroller, then that would help since when they're in the World, they could fall asleep at anytime since they're on the go so much.

Have a great trip!

Nancy

Good luck and have fun.

We took our daughter for the first time at 17 months. She was our only child at the time and we had a blast. We took her on just about everything without a height requirement at MK. She loved the rides (especially Small World, Dumbo, Aladdin, carousel and Pooh) and liked some of the shows such as Country Bears that weren't too loud. She was fine on all the rides that are "iffy" for slightly older kids such as Haunted Mansion and Pirates (DD now 5 and DS2 were both a little scared on these this trip) She also loved Animal Kingdom and the kiddie pool at All Star Music. We wore her out and she slept well. She did NOT eat well. Ketchup with a spoon 3 meals a day :flower:

The main thing I would have done differently was that we didn't research Epcot at all and were so overwhelmed we ended up doing almost nothing.

We never returned to our resort for naps because she'd sleep in her stroller in the parks. However, we went in early December so temperature wasn't an issue. She did fine on the plane trip with snacks and toys but she had ear tubes at the time so pressure pain was not a problem. Oh, and we were always back at the resort and in bed early because the parks closed early.
