Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I woke up this morning with the beginning of a cold sore. I've already abrevad it over and over, but I need to take drastic measures to get rid of it by tomorrow night. Any home remedies you know of that will get rid of it that fast?

I have a doctor's appointment today for a regular check up. What prescriptions have worked best for you to get rid of one?

I'm so mad I could spit!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always take tons of lysine tablets (get it at any drug store- it's a nutritional supplement). I take 5 or 6 tablets at at a time maybe 3 times a day for the first day or 2, then, I take progressively less each day.

Always works!

Zovirax is a miracle drug to me. It stops the CS at the first sign, and heals completely within a few days, as opposed to a week or longer. It has healed mine in a day or two, also. You can call your dentist and ask him/her to call in a prescription if it is more convenient than the doctor.

I used to take Lysine religiously until I got pregnant with DS6. My OB told me to stop while I was pregnant, and I never took them again. I have had fewer (one or two a year) cold sores since stopping than I did when I was taking it ( about 4/year). Go figure.

Camphor is what I used to use before I started w/Zovirax. It hurts like a mother when you put it on (alcohol based), but it dries it out pretty good. But it still takes at lease a week to heal.

I just went and got some Lysine. I took 3. Those suckers are huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH takes IC ACYCLOVIR ...which I think is the generic for Zovirax. He takes it and it's gone the next day!
