Happy New Year!!

We are going to WDW in April and have booked a 2 bedroom suite at the Qualiity Suites Maingate East. I thought we wwere all set until I read some reviews and alot were not favorable. Now I need some suggestions of another place to stay. We need enough space for 2 adults and 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys. Two are teenagers so we need two bathrooms!!!

I would appreciate any help I could get.

As far as other negative reviews go, take then with a grain of salt. I'd reserved a room in Georgia through Priceline for our drive down to Florida and then I read some negative comments about it. I was about to scrap the reservation and try for another place through Priceline when my DH said I should just let it be and we'd see how it was when we got there. There was nothing wrong with the place (and I went over it with a fine-toothed comb) other than the fact that when the sofa sleeper was out you had a bit of a hard time navigating around it to get to the kitchen area of the place. I learned a valuable lesson then and try not to get too nervous when I read a negative review. I take a lot of things into consideration -- how much did I pay for the room, how long will we be there, how much time are we actually going to stay in the room, etc.?
As an alternative, have you considered a vacation home? Many DISers have stayed in vacation homes in and around Orlando and have nothing but good things to say about their experiences. We've never stayed in one but are considering that for our next trip which may be close to one month long. If you're interested, try doing a search of these boards for "vacation home(s)" and I'm sure it will turn up a lot of useful information. Have fun planning and don't let this little bump in the road discourage you!

Couple of comments ...

We've stayed at the Quality Suites in March 2002. I thought it was perfectly fine and would have no qualms in recommending it to someone.

That said, I think you may get more space and greater amenities in a rental home or condo without spending any more money (and maybe even less).

We recently stayed in a 3-bedroom condo at Windsor Palms.

We paid $90/nite for a 1400 square foot unit with 2 full bathrooms, 3 tv's, stereo, dvd player, fully equipped kitchen, ceiling fans in every room, washer/dryer and more.

For about $100/nite, you could rent a 3-bedroom house with a private screened-in pool. There are tons of rental homes from 3-6 bedrooms in the area (some even larger but beyond your needs). Prices are incredibly low for what you get.
