I just found the DIS boards (what a great site!) and have so far 3 pages of notes for our first Disney trip coming up in February. The problem is, I had no idea that we should have been making reservations for meals we would like to experience. We are on the quick dining plan so have 2 CS meals and 2 snacks but would love to have at least one great breakfast and one great dinner on Disney site and maybe off Disney site. We are staying on site at Pop Century - our party will consist of myself and my DH, my sister, her kids, ages 22 and 19, and my kids, DD 13 and DS 12. Could you all help me with ideas on breakfast and dinner - there are so many choices, it's overwhelming. I thought that the Fantasmic Dinner sounded good but not sure if I want to use my one good meal on the restaurants that are listed for that. Also, we're just a month out from our trip, so reservations are going to be tough.

After reading some of the threads, Le Cellier sounds like a place we'd like to try - I've always wanted to try risotto and creme brulee (yeah, we don't get out much and we're from North Dakota so not a lot of fine dining here - lol). Where is this restaurant located and is it necessary to have reservations or do you think we could get in after a wait? We're going 2/11 to 2/18.

predicament that a lot of first time visitors run into. I only make reservations prior to a normal vacation at more select restaurants. At Disney, many of the restaurants book up months in advance. Le Cellier is one of the more popular restaurants and often books up quickly.

Don't despair. There are options out there. Here is a link to an online system. It is easy to check availability at restaurants very quickly and it will make recommendations for other restaurants with availability. A couple of notes, the system seems to check on availability one hour on each side of the requested time. If you are flexible on your time change the requested time and search again (modify search button). The systems makes this easy. Also, if you are flexible on your days there is an option to search a span of five days for a particular restaurant and time. The time range limitation works here also. Check the area of the restaurant you are looking for. The restaurants that have online booking have a book reservation button under the picture.

I did some quick searches. Cape May breakfast had some opening during your time. It's a character meal and has pretty good food on a buffet. It's in the Beach Club Resort. Boma (near your resort) also had some openings for breakfast and dinner. It is in te Afrcican Kingdom Lodge. It is also a buffet. It has items with African influence and regular food items. Ohana in the Polynesian Resort showed some breakfast openings. Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom also had some openings. For dinner Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge, Boma, The Wave in the Contemporary. I didn't see anything for Le Cellier. Biergarten in Epcot has openings. It's one of my personal favorites with German food and and an oompah band during lunch and early dinner.

Take a look around and go back at other times to search. People do cancel reservations.

Good luck and if you haven't been to the Disney Tips board it is well worth visiting to get ideas for people going for the first time.

First off I want to start by saying :welcome: to the Dis.....you have come to the right forum to ask any questions you have about your upcoming Disney trip :goodvibes. As for Le Cellier, we tried this for the first time in December and LOVED it. We went for lunch and we still ate like it was dinner time :rotfl: The food, atmosphere, and service is amazing it is a definate must do (that is if you can get in). Le Cellier is located in the Canada Pavillion in Epcot's WS. The risotto is very good (first time trying it) and I also had the filet plus the chocolate mousse for dessert, which everyone else in my party was just drooling over and wishing they had gotten that too. Oh yeah, don't forget to get the cheddar cheese soup :cloud9:.

Thank you guys for your help - I did go to the booking reservations page, and I made a reservation at the Brown Derby for 3:40 p.m. Do you know if we will get a lunch menu or dinner menu??

Welcome to the DIS! If there is a special place you would really like to eat (like Le Cellier) and it's all booked up, make reservations at your second choice and then keep checking the online reservations page. People cancel and change their reservations all the time, so you might get lucky. :goodvibes Also, I would suggest Donald's Safari Breakfast in the Animal Kingdom if you're looking for something fun. You can get in as early as 8:00 AM, even if the park doesn't open until 9:00.

Oh, and you should get the dinner menu if you've booked the Fantasmic Package.

Okay - after checking out more menus, I made changes and canceled the Brown Derby and went with the Rainforst Cafe - it had the steaks a couple of us wanted but had a good variety for non-steak eaters in the group as well as good choices for my picky kids. Thanks for the tips - I'll keep checking the reservations page for Le Cellier to open up. I have a month so I'll cross my fingers!
