Sadly, we made the decision last night that we cannot buy in. DS #2 starts college in the fall, what can I say? Does anybody have the '800' number for the Vacation Club? I'm going to have DH call Jackie to give her the bad news. :(

I'm so bummed about this, and I'm trying very hard not to be angry with DH, but I am. He should have just never lead us (me and the four kids) to believe that this was even a possiblity, but he did. Haven't even told the kids yet. And I think DS had an idea in the back of his mind that for grad. from high school he and a couple of friends were going down for a few days. I dread telling them.

At any rate, if anyone could share that phone no., I'd appreciate it.

MinnieMe,

I am sorry that your family had to make that decision. Maybe once you get rolling with your daughter's tuition payments, you will be able to do it. We had to wait several years before being able to handle the cost of DVC....so I understand your frustration.

Anyway, the toll free number I have is 1-888-382-6244.

For the kind words of encouragement as well as the phone number.

I am in a similar situation. DH and I were up until the wee hours of the morning doing serious number crunching. We will be purchasing a house over the next 12 months and have a tremendous amount of credit card debt. The verdict is to get on a serious payment plan to get rid of most of the debt while still saving toward our downpayment and closing costs. Somehow this is just not as much fun as the prospect of purchasing DVC but I know DVC and Disney aren't going anywhere soon and will be there in a year or two when we are in a better financial situation.

I just wanted to say I understand (and feel) your disappointment.

Congratulations to you both! You have the sense to put your family's real needs ahead of your wants. It's not much fun but it's what makes you "heros" in your families. MinnieMe2 I bet your hubby was probably trying to talk himself into doing this, too. He's probably disappointed he can't give the family everything they want and everything they need.

DVC and WDW aren't going anywhere and maybe they'll be something even better when you are ready to purchase! :)
