WE WILL BE GOING TO DISNEY IN 2007, FOR THANKSGIVING. THIS WILL BE OUR FIRST TIME AND WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!!!IF ANYONE HAS ANY ADVICE FOR US WE WOULD LOVE EVERYONES INPUT. WE WILL BE GOING TO DISNEY WITH MY FRIEND AND HER FAMILY (MY SON WILL BE 5 AND HER KIDS WILL BE 3, 15, AND 17). WE WILL BE ON A SERIOUS BUDGET TILL WE GO. I WOULD LOVE ANY SECRETS AND TECHNIQUES TO SAVING MONEY BUT STILL HAVE A GREAT TIME. IDEAS ON RESTURANTS AND SHOPS WOULD BE WONDERFUL. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW OF A GOOD SHOW TO SEE WHILE THERE. ANY IDEAS OF RESTURANTS TO EAT AT FOR THANKSGIVING. HERE I GO ALL EXCITED AGAIN. I CAN'T STOP MYSELF. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO DISNEY BEFORE. MY FINAL QUESTION IS... WE ARE GOING FOR 6 NIGHTS AND WE WILL BE USING THE DINING PLAN, HAS ANYONE EVER GONE ON THE TRIP AND STAYED AT A VALUE RESORT ON THE DINING PLAN????
I AM ALMOST SCARED TO ASK BUT ABOUT HOW MUCH DID IT COST?????

I seriously recommend getting a travel agent who specializes in Disney to help. We've saved big time doing that. They always know the best deals. Also, these boards have tons of people who love to give info on how they've saved. Do searches on subjects you're curious about and see what's been posted. You have a lot of time to really start saving, take advantage of it :-). And if you shop on line, use rewards programs, those can add up pretty fast. :cheer2:
 
Hi there and welcome to the Dis Boards! You'll find lots of helpful information here as well as DISers who are more than excited to help you with any information you need. Since this will be your first trip to Disney I would suggest purchasing a guide book. Rita Aero's old book was one of the best out on the market, but the Passporter is very good as well. I would also suggest reading Deb Will's wonderful site. She has all the information you need on her website. www.allearsnet.com Read up on everything on her site. When it comes time to making ADR's be sure to do so! First figure out what days you'll be in what parks to make your ADR's. I'll be trying out the dining plan for the first time next month since Disney didn't offer this since the last trip I was able to take. It sounds like a great plan and I'm anxious to try it out. I normally plan $50 per person per day for meals, but with the Disney Dining Plan it only costs $38 for adult and $11 per child 3-9 years. So, this not only is a great savings, but with the dining plan you don't have to worry about how much each meal will cost. You get one snack, one counter service and one table top service meal per day. Great ways to help save money towards your trip.....go to your local Disney Store and purchase a little bit of Disney money each month. Even if you only purchase a little bit it will eventually add up before your Thanksgiving trip in 2007. Also, buy some Disney money to give as Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers, birthday presents, Valentine's gift, Easter baskets, etc.... Another thing I do is buy items that we'll need for our trips to give as presents as well....the one time use camera's, socks, notepads, pencils, etc.... When you purchase anything in town before your trip always use bills. Never use your change. Put all change you receive in a jar to save towards your trip. This can really add up! Last trip we saved $500 this way. Also, when you break a larger bill save your one's in order....on the dollar bill there will be a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 or a 12. When you have one of each roll them up and put them away. It's easier to save a dollar here and there than it is a lump sum and before you know it you have at least $1,000 saved towards your trip. Have the children do the same if they receive allowance or do chores for neighbor's to earn money. They'll have their own spending money before they know it.

:banana: The dis board is really a wonderful place. The people in here are extremely helpful!! I have already been to WDW 6 times over the years. But my upcoming Nov. trip will be my DH's very first time in. Plus it is our anniv. So planning this trip became an obsession. I truly spassed out over it. With all of the searching I was doing on line I came across the Dis Board. Boy life hasn't been the same since!! I really couldn't have planned this trip without the help of people on here. We are talking true Disney experts. And, the excitement everyone feels for WDW is sooooo contagious. It just keeps you smiling all day!! We are even in the process of planning trip # 2 that will take place in June of 2007. Soooo, with that all said...you really couldn't have picked a better place than here to get advice and or suggestions!! :banana:
