Please help, I don't know what to do and I'm running out of time! We have booked 7 nights at CSR and we are leaving in 8 days  (that's the good part). We have decided to extend our stay for a few more days. My dilemma: should I just tack a few days on to the CSR resort ressie or should I do a few days at the Yacht Club. There is still room availability at both (AP rate). Buzz has gotten me excited about staying at CSR, but I've always dreamed of staying at the Yacht Club and will never be able to afford it for a whole trip. The problem is 3 nights at the Yacht Club is equal to about 6 nights at CSR. Is there a big difference from the CSR to the Yacht Club, should I spend $400 more to spend a few days at the Yacht Club, is it worth the extra money? Let me add we are Epcot fanatics and spend most of our time there. I guess I looking for someone to tell me the Yacht Club is so awesome I won't regret spending the extra dough! Please help. We are leaving June 10. What should I do??

I think it would be fun to stay there for the last couple nights! You can take advantage of the great things at YC like stormalong bay and beaches n cream! It will also give you something to look forward to at the end of your trip. I would do it.

That's kind of like my situation this past December. I was going to stay at a moderate but it was value season and I got the AP rate and we were only staying for 4 nights, so I decided to stay at Polynesian instead b/c I figured this was the most affordable way to do it and I wouldn't be able to afford staying there for a whole week ever.

The Yacht Club is a nice resort. We liked staying there a few years ago. The quiet pool was really quiet which was nice. I would stay there just for the proximity to Epcot and MGM. You can't beat the short walk to and from the World Showcase. You can easily pop in for dinner and Illuminations--no hassles

I love the YC! One of my favorite things to do is while my older son (17) is swimming at SAB or driving a mouseboat and my husband and youngest son (4) are taking a nap I just take a very leisurely quick walk over to Epcot and shop in the WS ALL BY MYSELF!!!!! It's like a mini vacation within a vacation. The location of YC can't be beat. :cheer2: :cloud9:

I don't know how much more you're paying per night, but I just returned from the YC and it was fantastic. Not the rooms per se, though they were nice, but the location!! Boat ride to MGM and you can walk to Epcot so easily!! If you love Epcot I can't see staying anywhere else (well, actually the Beach Club, which is connected to the Yacht Club is on the side closer to Epcot now that I think about it). The pool area can't be beat - awesome sand to play in and a really fun swirling pool and slide. Any specific questions please feel free to PM me!

It is so worth it! The YC is one of our favorite resorts in the world and we travel frequently and always stay at 4 or 5 start hotels. You will love it! :cheer2:

We are paying $234 a night (AP rate). Yacht Club has always been one of those hotels that we visit and sigh...and say "oh I wish we could stay there." We always stay on our trip for a least 7 nights and will never be able to afford it for an entire stay, so that's why I was thinking of doing the last 3 nights at the Yacht Club. Coronado is only $109 night, so that's my delimma. Pretty big difference per night.... :smooth:

Rooz,

My wife and I have become "Deluxe Brats" from staying at Deluxe Resorts. I did it while I was a child with my parents and insisted we stay at one for our honeymoon. Now we both refuse to stay in moderates because of the convenience of the locations of the Deluxes.

We stayed at the Yacht Club last summer and it's on our list of hotels we'd be willing to go back to. We actually flipped a coin for where to stay this year - BWI or YC.

If you are Epcot nuts and can splurge the extra $$$ - go for it, but be forewarned it might be impossible to go back!

Warning! Warning! Warning! Those 3 nights may cause you to never be able to go back to moderates again! Right now I have 7 nights booked at YC for $500/nt. I'm really hoping something comes out for my dates in 2006. If not it's going to be hard to swallow but I'll do it........I know I will.

Sigh - I am having to postpone this weekend's stay at YC... Since it was a short stay, and I am an Epcot girl, YC is my first choice. Plus it's a short walk to Yacht Club Galley, one of my favourite, consistently good places to eat!

To me, the whole resort is an uncovered gem, and they seem to have it figured out there - never a hiccup during a stay there, great location, great food, great service!

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Well I did it, ya'll talked me into it....I'm staying 5 nights at CSR and 3 nights at the Yacht Club....oh I'm so excited. We are leaving 7 days! :cool1: :cool1: Any suggestions for making a request for a good standard view room?

Congrats roo!! I hope you have a fantastic time. If it makes you feel any better you are paying $100 a night less than I did over Memorial Day Weekend. :D

The room view didn't matter much to me because I knew it wouldn't be looking over the water and after all day in the hot sun at the parks the last thing I wanted to be was outside. If you have foot problems from walking all day then try requesting a room by the elevator so that you don't add on another 5 minutes everytime you go to your room. :)

The rooms overlooking the wedding gazebo are considered standard views and are quite nice. You might even get to catch a wedding or two!!

Rooz,

Congrats! You won't regret it especially since you love Epcot.

Just some heads up before you make the trip. Yacht and Beach Club don't have traditional quick service/food court locations. Hurricane Hanna's and now the Beach Club Marketplace have a small selection of sandwiches, etc that you can pick up pretty quickly. Beaches and Cream is sit-down, but in a casual setting and you can order food from the Crew's Cup Lounge as well.
On the Boardwalk, the Boardwalk Bakery serves breakfast and lunch. ESPN Club also is a nice choice weekdays during lunch. It is not as busy.

Sometimes, folks are disappointed that there aren't more quick service locations at the Deluxe Epcot Resorts especially after staying at a value or moderate resort. I am just trying to prepare you and give you some options...

Two questions,

What resort is better..BC or YC. Also...do you have any suggested room numbers to ask for in the standard room category.

It really depends on personal preference. I like YC - it's a darker lobby, more convention oriented, and they hide the kids somewhere! I love the Yacht Club Galley and Yachtsman Steakhouse, and the walk is only 1-2 minutes further to Epcot.

I suggest looking at photos and decided which type of decor and athmosphere appeal to you more...

Either one is a good choice!

You will love the YC - I say go for it! You will have a better chance of a good standard room at the YC (full balcony/better view). Have a wonderful time.
