Help with weeks in July!

I need help from those of you who frequent WDW in the summer. We are planning a trip down this July. My question is this: Would the week of the 4th have significantly higher crowds than the rest of the month? Would there be a big difference? We were there last August (during Hurricane Charley) and the crowds were not horrible, so we would like to match that.

I was there last year from 6/26-7/5. There were regular summer crowds for the most part, but they got bigger and bigger as 7/4 came closer. If you're going to be there on 7/4 my best advise is to skip the parks that day, and watch the fireworks from a resort or something. My last day in the park was 7/4 since we left 7/5, but I heard the crowds died down that week (still heavy summer crowds, which is what you probably experienced in August)

We were there from 7/3 - 7/11 and other than the 4th I didn't think the parks were packed. Sure there were lines but nothing bigger than I've seen on other trips in the summer.

We were there last year July 1st-9th. I agree, the 4th was a monster day at all the parks, but prior to and after it went back down to "normal" summer crowds.

We'll be there again this year. June 27 - July 5th
