Help with wait list strategy

I'm hoping to book a 3 night stay inside of the 7 month window. No preference on where but do want a studio. I currently have 1 night of my 3 booked at OKW. The same night is available at AKL. How would you use the wait list for the best chance of this working out?

I do have a cash res at a moderate as my backup but ended up with more points than I thought I would this year and would love to use them instead.

In general the biggest categories are probably Kidani Savanna view and OKW (non-HH)

I'd probably WL days 2 and 3 to compliment the booked day and choose a different category for days 1-3

Then start stalking the website. If day 3 comes available, book it and change the W/L to day 2 only. (Or visa-versa)

Are the missing days contiguous or is the one available day in the middle?

If they're contiguous, book both rooms. Set up one waitlist for the two missing days at AKV and set it to cancel the OKW reservation. Set up your second waitlist for the opposite.

The missing days are contiguous! Good plan. BUT... now the AKV room is gone. I will keep stalking!!

Great!! I've got OKW non HH. The AKV room has been avail for 2 days but was gone before I snagged. Will keep stalking!! Thanks for your help.
