Please tell me about it (for those of you who own or have been there). I am sure my mom will want to come visit me in the spring and now she cannot stay with me (b/c of the cat). I was thinking of maybe going down to Vero for two nights, probably over a weekend. I currently have banked points with my use year being October, so I am really not worried about spending points. Is it difficult to book over there? I was thinking of doing this as part of her Christmas gift, but I am not sure if she will be able to make firm plans on when she wants to visit until the new year.

Thoughts?

I don't have a firm answer for you, but stay away from Memorial weekend, that does get booked!

Vero Beach is our favorite resort, but we own at BWV. We have never felt compelled switch or add ownership at Vero because we have never had any problem with ressies. You shouldn't have any problem if you avoid holidays.

She will probably want to come in March or April, but not Easter (I can't get off from my p/t job then anyway). What is there to do at the resort, besides lying on the beach?

Well since you asked…

Of course they have a cool pool, hot Jacuzzi, miniature golf, exercise room, ping pong, bike rentals, The Green Cabin Room (bar/restaurant) has 2nd floor covered deck that has a fantastic view of the ocean and is a nice place to relax with your favorite beverage. It also has live entertainment in the evenings. At night they have a campfire / s’more roast. You can rent a small catamaran or jet-ski for ocean fun. Across the street they have a lake and nature trail, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Disney built a private tunnel under the road to access this area.

Five minutes away is Pelican Island and a wildlife education center. Also minutes away is Sebastian Inlet were the Indian River meets the ocean. There are river excursions where you can see dolphins, manatee, and tons of other types of wildlife. About an hour away is Cape Canaveral, (where the Magic and Wonder dock), the Kennedy Space Center, and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge with walking and driving tours.

Hope you have a wonderful time. :beach:
