I have a day coming up on my trip in two weeks where I have split Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom into one day (HS in morning and AK at night).
Looking for ideas for Vegetarian lunch options in these two parks (not pescatarian due to allergies). Or possibly a stop on the way between?
I am traveling for a conference with another adult and have limited time in the parks overall. I have no specific agenda other than to relax and have fun. We already have a ADR at Tiffins that night at 6pm, so I am thinking probably QS for lunch? We are not on a dinning plan, so two sit down meals is still a possibility.
These two parks have always been tough for me in terms of QS dinning vegetarian options, so have been thinking about stopping at Sanaa for lunch?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help!:)

I'm pescatarian and my dd is vegetarian. We were very happy with the menu at Mama Melrose. Between the appetizers and entrees, there were quite a few options for us. Some of the appetizers are easily big enough for a meal. We've never eaten QS at HS, so no help with that aspect. We have eaten vegetarian at AK, though. Pizzafari had a really nice veggie flatbread when we were there - Mediterranean, I think it was. They also have a plain cheese flatbread, and you might be able to leave the shrimp off the shrimp flatbread. Tomato basil soup and garlic knots are also on the menu. Eight Spoon Cafe has a baked mac and cheese that is a snack item but could be considered a small lunch portion. I know I've seen several vegetarian salad or quinoa type dishes on the menus at other AK QS locations but have yet to try them. They look appealing, though.

But, if Sanaa is an option for you, I would probably choose it over any of the above. That would be a nice break from the go, go, go of the parks. I think the food is better than what you would get in the parks, too. And, you get to have lunch while watching the animals. Sounds like a lovely idea to me as long as you have the time to spare.

I second Mama Melrose for HS.

Ironically, I find it very hard to get good vegetarian food at AK. Yak & Yeti has a good lo mein with tofu, but it really annoys me that it costs more than the shrimp and chicken versions.

Its weird, but Rainforest does a great job making lots of things vegetarian. I've weirdly stopped in the one at AK a decent few times because if you eat at the bar, its pretty fast and they mix strong drinks:)

Hmm. Well looking at menus on allears, I'd way rather have lunch/dinner at Tusker than dinner at Tiffins, so I would have a hard time helping you with that specifically. :)

At HS I've always loved the noodle bowl at Brown Derby, so I would likely give their vegetarian pho a try. Not if using a dining plan, though; that's OOP only for me!

Mama Melrose sounds great. I was leaning more towards Sanaa up until Disney sent out my pre-trip email and I learned about this express bus thing to avoid re-entering through security. Now I don't know what to do. :confused3 Will probably just decide the day of depending on how early we are able to get to the park. Looks like there are still plenty of reservations. :teeth:

Looks like Mama Melrose might be the winner. :) Agree that it's nuts to charge more for meatless option.

I do have a soft spot for Rainforest cafe because we used to have them in Connecticut. Forgot about them, will keep that as an option.:smooth:

Not a huge fan of buffets, so Tusker is out for us. But Brown Derby definitely has potential. :thumbsup2

Thanks to everyone for your help/suggestions!

For Animal Kingdom, Satuuli Canteen is great with customizable tofu bowls. And the Smiling Crocodile (only open until 3) has amazing street corn tacos and salsa.

Vegan Disney world website has options listed by park and princess and the bear have an entire YouTube dedicated to various restaurants all over wdw. Tons of quick serve and sit down options available.

My daughter loved the shepherd's pie at Hollywood Brown Derby. It is made with lentils, not meat. She had it twice on our recent trip!

At AK, there are a couple of vegetarian small plates at Nomad Lounge, one of our favorites.
