We recently bought a contract at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but we already have a contract at SS.

So I am looking to book at AK June 2018, but to get the amount of nights I require I would have to borrow from the following year some points due to not being able to use the SS points at AK yet (both Feb use year).

My Question is this, If I borrow now can I then swap my SS points over for some of the reservation (I have to wait until November to use SS points for a reservation at AK in June) and then bank the points I had originally used from Feb 2018 AK contract (obviously I know I couldn't bank the borrowed points from 2019).

I some how think this is not possible otherwise everyone would be doing it!!!

Your thinking is correct. It is not possible to reallocate points from a non-home resort to cover the points needed for a reservation made during the home resort advantage period (11-7 months). But, if availability exists at AK when the 7-month window opens, you can cancel the original reservation and use SSR points to book a new one.

My suggestion:
Book two separate reservations, put one in your first name and then the other in another person's first name, middle name, nick name, etc. That way Disney "see's" the reservations as being for two different people and not combine them ahead of time.
Use only the current AKL UY points for one reservation and the borrowed AKL UY points for the other.
At 7 months using SSR points, if available book a reservation the same as the current AKL UY points reservation, cancel the current AKL UY points reservation, and bank them into next UY.

I would book what you can using the points you know you'll need from the AKV contract and book the other nights at SSR using that contract. Then at day one 7 months out, I'd switch it over to AKV. Unless you're looking at Value, you shouldn't have a major issue using the SSR at AKV. If it's value, there's likely no feasible way to use the SSR. I would not borrow the points to get the entire reservation because you can't unborrow them later other than I likely would to round out a single night. You could bank the current UY points that you freed up with the method you suggested but they would be banked points with more restrictions. If it's value you want you'll likely just have to borrow and use the SSR points in other ways.
