Hello,
SORRY to ask, but I can't get my search button to work (it keeps saying disabled!) Anyways... We are planning on taking our own stroller from home and was wandering if anyone has any suggestions on how to keep it safe? I have read where people have come out of attractions and NO STROLLER!!!
THANKS for the advice!!!

We took our stroller MNAY times and never ever had any problems with it missing. Sometimes the CMs will move them but other than that you probably would not have a problem.

If it is that much of a problem you could use one of those cable locks but it would take a while every time you needed to get in or out. Another idea that someone posted about several years ago was to put a clean diaper in a clear bag but to pour tea or something on it to make it look dirty and hang it from the handle.

I've done both- rented and brought my own. I prefer having my own. Never had a problem with it going missing or anything in it going missing.

Even though a lot of people are hearing this hint for the first time, it's an old hint and is well known. It would not stop anyone who actually wants to steal a stroller.
A lot of strollers get misplaced because CMs move them to keep the stroller parking lot clear and neat while people are in lines. As people leave rides, CMs fill in the spots vacated by their strollers to make more room for new arrivals. A lot of times, it's not really missing, just moved. Also, since so many strollers look alike, people often atke one they think is theirs by accident. So, anything you can do to personalize your stroller makes it less likely to be taken. Some people have used colored tape or ribbons wound around the handles. Those are things that someone would notice when they start pushing the stroller.
If you choose to use a lock, remeber that you are not allowed to lock it to anything for fire and evacuation reasons. Some people lock the back or front wheels together so the stroller can be moved if needed by tilting it onto the unlocked wheels, but it can't be used. Other people put a cable lock on so that it prevents the stroller from folding, but can still be used. That way, you don't have to fiddle with the lock all the time, but if someone tries to take it out of the park, they will not be able to fold it to take it on the bus or parking lot trams.

Nothing happened to my stroller at WDW, other than it getting a bit scratched up from dragging it onto the bus, etc. It was when we got back home, that we found the airlines had damaged it to the point that it was ripped and didn't close properly. I would recommend taking your own stroller, but just check it for damage before you leave the airport. Some airlines won't pay for damages they caused if you don't show them the damage immediately. We even gate checked the stroller- it must have been on the bottom of a pile of other stuff....

We have taken our 2 cheap ($15 a piece) umbrella strollers to WDW twice and never had a problem.
This is what I did................
I had 2 pieces of wild Halloween fabric left from something and I tied a long piece onto each handle. (you could also use a DIFFERENT colored bandana--meaning not a common color) We also tied them TOGETHER so that when castmembers Tidy up, they would always stay together.

brought our own and we have never had a problem. We always tie a brightly colored bandana on the handle of a rented or own stroller so that noone takes it by mistake and so we know which one is ours. When we brought our own on the plane--we put a luggage tag on it and wrapped bungee cords around it to secure it for the flight. Good luck.
