You guys are saying to go ahead and cut over to Cape Canaveral and take 95 all the way down... Not FL Turnpike... The FL Turnpike doesn't save that much time?

We did West Palm Beach to Orlando in Florida and took the Turnpike. It was really nice - no traffic at all. In fact we were the only car driving for miles until we met up with another car.
You will pay tolls if you take the turnpike, but the drive is very pretty. Lots of big trees dividing the highway so you don't even see the other lanes. It is really a nice drive with very nice rest stop areas.
I lived in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton, it's between 2.5 - 3 hours. Take the Turnpike down as far as you can go, it's much easier. With the SunPass it was around $13-$14 one way. It might be slightly more without the SunPass.
