Help with pins, I'm a newbie =)

As I'm not new to the boards, I've never ventured over to the collectors area, but had some pin questions and thought who better to ask. There are 2 different pins that I'm really interested in purchasing that will be release in March. As I'm not a collector, some are really starting to grown on me. There's an open collection pin set that's cupcakes and then a limited edition pin for tax day also being release in March. What is the difference between limited and open and will both or either be at the world when I visit in May/ Do they sell our and never come back in? My main question is, should I buy them through the merchandise number or in person in May? Thank you so much!

A limited edition pin means that there is only a fixed number of pins being made. So once it sells out there will not be more. An open edition pins means that they will continue to produce it. The open edition pins can remain in stores for years.

As for the LE pins, some sell fast, some slower. I know the Friday the 13TH pin at DLR sold out before the day, but the one for Epcot's F&W was still there in December. So I'd say if it is a pin you really want mail order/ebay it. Note that many of the pins are not available for mail order until 30 days after release.
