I underpacked!
I thought I'd be in a swimsuit every day....but with the kids in the Mickey pool, I was fine (and more comfortable) in shorts and a tshirt. But I didn't pack enough shorts and tshirts - I was short one pair (and this was a four day cruise!). I think I just didn't pack smart (I kind of threw things in a suitcase last minute).
You change a LOT on a cruise. I didn't like wearing a swimsuit (even with a coverup) to meals. So we had shorts on for breakfast, suits on for a dip in the pool (or Castaway Cay), shorts on for lunch and strolling, suits on for a pre dinner swim, dinner clothes. That's two suits a day (ours dried quickly in the bathroom, but nothing worse than putting on a wet suit), plus shorts and a tshirt. And I was always dribbling something on my shorts.
I'd pack one tshirt (or other casual shirt) per day. One pair of shorts (or a skort or short skirt) for every other day (you can usually get two days out of a pair of shorts you only wear for a few hours). If you pack on short skirt, you can get dinner out of it a night or two as well (I did think that much through, and that was great!) If some of the casual shirts have collars (or a dressy enough to count) you can get them to dinner as well. Two swimsuits and a COVERUP!
Then the dinner challenge. Dressing up for dinner is so much fun that I'd hate to limit myself to one pair of black slacks and a few tops.
The there is the shoe challenge. I brought a pair of flats I wore nearly everywhere. I also had a pair of strappy sandals for dressing up - but if I had to do it again, I'd just wear the flats. I brought good sandals (Chocos) that I wore once - should have bought cheap flip flops.
