Help with photography!

I was going to get the super duper photography package through disney that is like $5,000 or so dollars. I see that many of you got outside vendors.

First, has anyone used Disney's photographers and did they do a good job?

Second, I would like to have a session in the MK. Can an outside vendor do that? I wanted to have the session the day after. I am confused about whether I should have disney's photographers or an outside vendor.

I used an outside photographer, but I know many brides who used Disney are happy with their pix.

Unfortunately, only Disney photogs can do the Magic Kingdom shoot, but it's OK if you have your own photographer for the wedding - we did both!

I haven't yet had my wedding, but we have hired Misty Miotto (http://mistymiotto.com/). I had read and seen good things about her on this board. Her website has sample photos, plus if you search these boards other people have posted their pics.

We wanted just a very basic package of pre-wedding shots at the resort/ceremony site and we wanted a high-res CD only package. Disney didn't have any package we wanted and unbelievably their CD is NOT high res, so it's not print quality (like what's the point of paying an extra 1000$ for a CD that is no good for ordering prints off of?).

We just wanted photos of us at our resort (which is where we are staying and where the ceremony is), so the MK thing is not an issue for us, but as Lurkyloo pointed out, only disney photographers can do MK photoshoots.

I emailed Misty and told her exactly what we wanted. We have hired her for a 3 hour photosession pre-ceremony for a VERY reasonable price. She is very prompt and easy to get ahold of.

We used Disney, Ty was our photographer, and I couldn't have been happier with our pictures! I hadn't found these boards yet when we were planning and so I didn't know there was any other option - glad I didn't because I am thrilled with our pictures! (And yes, it was easy to use Disney!) Ty was very open to our suggestions and input so definitely feel free to tell your photographer exactly what you want. Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Thanks! That's one of probably a zillion carriage photos! They do a lot of fun shots with it!

5K seems high to me. I would research other vendors and then make your decision. You may need to use Disney to meet your minimums. I think it depends on your style. I am going with an outside photographer just because I wanted to know who I would have ahead of time and make sure we got along well... Disney just assigning people at the last minute freaks me out! GL.
