Help with luggage and ME - need advice

hey guys. I need advice. We just got our luggage tags in the mail today for our November trip. I'm wondering if we should use them because our first night we are arriving just before 10 pm and are planning to stay our first night at the Hyatt in the airport and then getting up the next morning to board the magical express. If we have those luggage tags on our bags, will we not be able to access them when we stay at the Hyatt? Do they send them through the baggage claim or take them to another location behind the scenes?

Do not use those tags. The bags are pulled before they get to baggage claim and sent directly to the resort. Since you won't yet be a guest at the resort, they will have to store them and it could take some time to track them down once you get there.

Agreed, don't use them. If you want your luggage at the Hyatt, leave them off!

I guess you could, but there's a bit of a risk there. If they were to include their actual flight info on their DME reservation, DME would see that they didn't scan in for the ride to the resort. The policy is in order for your bags to get transported, someone from the party needs to get on the bus. I've seen other posts that seem to indicate the bags will make it, but that goes against what I think you're supposed to do.

The other thing they could do, also a bit risky, is to pick a dummy flight for when they want to go to Disney in the morning. Problem is, the baggage shows up the night before. No idea what happens there.

It seems to me the safest thing to do is leave the tags off the bags, get them from baggage claim and set up a DME ride using a dummy flight arriving in the morning and bring the bags along when checking in for DME.
