Hi there! Can someone please help me with basics? I haven't been to Disney in a long time.

I will be arriving at Disney's All-Star Movies on May 5th, and I have a split reservation with three separate periods at the same resort: from May 5th to 8th, May 8th to 12th, and from May 12th to 16th.

I have two questions regarding my upcoming stay:
  1. We plan to visit our first park on May 9th. As I do not reside in the United States and also have a slip stay, I would like to know when I can begin making Lightning Lane reservations for that day.
  2. Our flight on May 5th will only arrive in the evening, and we won’t be able to visit a water park that day. However, I am wondering if we could still visit a water park on one of our other check-in dates.
Thank you in advance for your help

Are you in different room categories during your split stay? Are there different people residing in the room at different times during your split stay? Are you planning on asking the front desk if you can stay in the same room for the entire split stay?

I ask because if the answer to the first two questions is "no" you might find that your reservations get merged at some point... in which case, the answer to your questions would change

The people are the same, but the middle reservation is for a preferred room. I couldn’t get a standard one throughout the entire period, and paying for a preferred room was very expensive for us.

I would love not to have to change rooms. Is that possible? I wouldn't even mind staying in the standard room the entire time.

I wouldn't ask cuz if they merge your reservations, you can't get a water park visit, unless you don't care about that. Plus they likely wouldn't refund you the difference in preferred vs standard.

1. LL purchase begins 7 days from check-in — so April 28th based on the May 5th arrival. You can book LL for your full visit (length of ticket) at that time.

2. Yes you will have a free waterpark day on each of your check-in dates — the 5th, the 8th and the 12th.

I suggest having your reservations noted as “continuing” with the other reservation numbers. Ask at checkin if you can stay in the same room. This won’t merge the reservations but it is in WDW’s interest to keep you in the same room if possible.

Your water park tickets will show up in your MDE account before your stay. You should see 3 water park tickets since you have 3 check in dates.

We just did LL a few weeks ago for our early March stay. Log into your MDE app early on the first date available to get the best times for your rides. The earlier the better so you can grab a new reservation as soon as you tap into the first one.
