I know DVC has wired internet in rooms free of charge to DVC members. My question is has anyone tried to add a router to make the signal wireless in the room?:cheer2:

We also use the AirPort Express. I purchased a refurbished unit from the online apple store which was $30 cheaper then a new one.

Yes, we have one in our Owner's Locker because we always have at least two laptops in the unit.

I bring my DLink travel router and have used it many times in the room. Sometimes you just don't want to be tettered to the wall. We leave on Sunday and it's packed in my carryon. I do make sure I can get online with the ethernet cable first because I've had complications in the past at some of the resorts just getting online and had to call the tech folks who helped.

I bring mine from home. Just plug in the electric and the eternet cord and have instant wireless! There's no setup because it's the same setup as home.

We took our Airport Extreme router for our 2 Bedroom stay with our adult children having 4 laptops.....works great. Simply set-up.

We bring our Dlink portable router every trip, one thing I have learned is that the ethernet jacks in the wall can be temperamental, on a couple of occasions I had to plug the router directly into the modem instead of the wall jack. Probably a bad connection in the wall, if you look under the phone modem in the room there are four ethernet ports you can plug directly into, other than that we've never had any issues.

This past Christmas week we brought our router from home with us and it was great we had two laptops that we all used during our weeks at BLT. This is the first year I remembered to bring it and boy was it nice to not be tied to the wall! We did have the internet drop off a few times during use this trip so I recomend saving often as several of my posts got dropped and you know that suck to type for ten minutes for it all to be lost. We now have a cheep router in our Disney Box so we always have it with us. Why cant they just make the resorts all WIFI! If you have problems call tech support they are great help.

I am so glad I saw this thread before I left for my trip. I bought a Netgear router and I am using it in Kidani as we speak. It was so simple
