Hello! I hope this is the place to post this question, if not, I apologize! Earlier this week I booked our very first cruise, on the Dream 5/6-5/9. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! This is a surprise for my husband, he has no clue I did this, for our first anniversary (we were married at Disney back in November 2014). We will be staying at AKV 5/1-5/6, then embarking on our first cruise. My question is, since this is a surprise and I want to “give” it to my husband, I’m trying to think of a cute way to do this. Our anniversary is 11/17, and we will be down at WDW 11/18-11/21 for a quick trip (MY anniversary gift from him!). I know the traditional first anniversary gift is paper, so I was thinking about printing something off, sticking it in a gift card holder, and putting it in a card to give at a dinner on our trip. But there’s got to be something more fun or elaborate than this! Does anyone have any ideas?

Note: adding this surprise to our existing vacation will not create issues; he will not be upset or stressed that he was not involved in the decision. I’m the one who does all the vacation booking and planning anyways :)

If it wasn't that early... the booklet (it's paper) for the cruise is very cute... but you're not about to receive it yet.

It would be really fun if you could get a menu from one of the restaurants that you'll be dining in at WDW. You could then type up the announcemnet to fit inside like it was part of the menu - you know
APPITIZERS -
  • Where would you like to spend your next vacation?
  • How would you like to spend time in the tropics? -
MAIN COURSE
  • Disney Dream,
  • May 6 - 9,
  • (List the destination)
DESSERT -
Then get your server to hand it to him. See how long it takes to sink in. I love surprises!

Oh!!! I LOVE this!!! Thanks for the awesome idea! :love2:

You could always go online to your DCL Account & set him up the character call that announces the cruise!!! Lol

I wonder if you could call one of the restaurants you'll be dining at while at Disney & have them prepare a special dessert..... You know how they make all kinds of mickey designs on the plate with chocolate powder???....I bet they could do the disney cruise logo in chocolate powder, or something! That might be a fun & unique announcement!

So many ideas! I love stuff like this! LOL

There's a printable Disney Cruise ticket online, which could be the paper part of your anniversary gift. The link is below. My husband doesn't know about our next cruise yet either. He'll find out on Christmas morning. It's hard planning something this big without them finding out!

I love the idea about the menu! You could also ask room service to leave something on his pillow. =)
