Help with Hotel Location

I am planning for a trip to USF in August 2010. Last year we stayed at the HRH and loved the close loction to the park. This time, we want to try a different resort and am leaning towards RPR. PBH is a little out of the price range I am budgeting for. From the maps, RPR looks closer to the entrance of IOA than the main entrance. Can you enter the partk at IOA? Also, how long is the walk and water taxi ride from RPR to the park? Thanks!

When you say,"Can you enter the park at IOA" which park do you mean? IOA is Islands of Adventure which is one of the two theme parks. The other, Universal Orlando, cannot be accessed through IOA but you must exit IOA and walk over to the Universal entrance. You can simply walk straight to Universal from RPR. The boat will take you to Citywalk and it is about the same distance (3 minutes or so) to walk from the boat to either of the two parks.

Islands of Adventure park is about 7-10 minute walk from RPR. Add another 4 or 5 minutes onto that if you intend to go to Universal. The boat ride is about 5 minutes.

Yes. I should have been more clearer. For some reason, I thought there was a main entrance for both parks. Thanks for clarifying. Scary part is I was just there last year. Middle age is a terrible thing

My wife is concerned about the resort we choose because she saw people crossing the street from one of the hotels to get to the park. If we choose to walk from RPR, is there a direct path as the HRH has?

Yes, there is a lovely winding path that goes along the waterway. It is a very nice walk.
