We are going to SeaWorld for the first time on Oct 24th. I am a big planner and would love to have a map to figure out what we will be doing.
As already pointed out, there is a map on seaworld.com. To print the map in the largest size possible, click the "Print" button at the lower left, set your printer preferences to landscape mode, select "shrink to printable area", then print it. The map is larger than a 8.5 x 11 inch paper so must select "shrink to printable area" to make it fit on letter size paper.
The problem with the printed map is that there are no names of anything on it so it is hard to find anything. The online version allows clicking attractions, rides, resturants, etc. and seeing where the flag pops up to locate them on the map.
A WAY TO LOCATE INDIVIDUAL ITEMS ON THE PRINTED MAP:
=============================================
I thought of a way to identify all of the stuff on the printed map which might be helpful for the "big planners" like you and me. Draw a grid over the printed map that has lines spaced one inch apart horizontally and vertically. (I used the Excel spreadsheet to make my grid and printed it over the map.) At the left side, label all of the rows from A-H and at the top label all of the colums from 1-11.
Then I printed page-9 of the brochure which lists a lot of the attractions and rides. (Park Information > Download Brochure) I clicked the "finder flags" on the online map and wrote the grid coordinates for each item on page-9 in red ink. For example, the Kraken roller coaster is at coordinates C4 on the printed map so I wrote "C4" by the Kraken description on page-9, etc.
Most of the resturants are not shown on brochure page-9 so I hand wrote them in the bottom margin (lots of white space to do that) and wrote the coordinates for each one in red ink.
Now I can just look at page-9, find the item I'm interested in and get the coordinates, then find that item on the map. Yes it is a lot of work, but for the "big planners" it is ENJOYABLE WORK and adds to the vacation experience even before going there ...
Hope this helps some big planners ...
