Help with DING!

Am I doing something wrong, I have ding downloaded and am getting messages but when I click on them the page never brings me to the southwest site.

I am assuming that I am still getting a good rate by going there myself when I have a message from DING! but I want to be sure!

Any suggestions as to what I can do?

At least you were able to get it installed on your computer. When I try to install, all I get is a message that SWA cannot connect with my computer and i should try again later. I am so frustrated. Maybe your problem is more easily fixed. Have you tried going to the SWA website and checked the FAQ for DING? They do have a short troubleshooting section. Maybe someone on the DING thread can solve your problem as well. Good luck.

What do you get when you click on the message? Did you check the FAQ on Southwest's web site as Sleepy suggested? Since I'm not real clear on what's happening I'm not sure if this helps but I found this in the FAQ.

29. How do I bring up an offer, when I click on an offer or button in DING! nothing happens?

DING! opens the default browser configured on your system when you click on an offer or button that links you to southwest.com. If nothing is happening, it could be that your default browser is not configured to handle Internet Shortcuts properly or you may have a firewall or other security software blocking new browser windows. First verify that your default browser is set up. For Internet Explorer this would be under Tools -> Internet Options on the "Programs" tab. Verify that the box labeled "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" is checked. Other browsers will have a similar option. Close (shut down) and Re-open (restart) your browser.

If the problem continues, you may need to verify that your browser is configured to handle Internet Shortcuts. Information regarding Internet Explorer can be found in Microsoft's Support Knowledge Base. If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer, please see your browser documentation regarding.

Lastly, verify any firewall or other security software is not configured to block applications from opening up browser windows.

You don't get the ding fare unless you go through the ding link. When you get an envelope on your icon you should click on the icon. A small window comes up announcing the ding. When you click on the announcement you should get a web page with a list of markets with the ding fare. Are you not getting this page? I'm not sure I understand what is happening.

Over the ding icon there is an ! and it says a communication error has occurred. When I click on the icon it reads
no messages to display stay turned for new messages. Is this what I should be seeing? Not sure if it is working>
