Help with decisions!

I have two three year olds who love to swim. We were going to try to make a reservation only 5 months out for a short trip to WDW in November. I really wanted BCV for the pool area- but many resorts are now booked as I waited too long. I have Old Key West or Saratoga Springs as options for mid November or we can wait until Early March and try for BCV or BLT. Thoughts? We went in April this year and were trying for another time of year. Would love to get feedback from those of you who have been both times of year or stayed at any of the above resorts. TIA!

I think SSR's main pool is great for 3 year olds who love to swim. It has a small slide into the pool, zero entry and a splash area. The Grandstand pool has a splash area and looks like fun and then there's going to be a new pool. I would pick SSR for swimming with your group!

PS. Maybe what we hit was an anomaly, but a few years ago, we were there around Nov. 17th (DH's birthday so I know the dates) and it was just too cold to swim. We were the only family in SAB one afternoon, and that was the only time we made it to the pool on that trip!

We've gone down to WDW for Thanksgiving the last 5 yrs. Weather has run from warm(80's) to upper 40's with freeze warnings over night.

The earlier in the month the better, that's why we are going to try the 1st weekend this year to catch F&W.

I agree with Bobbi. Stormalong Bay is not that great for smaller kids because you really have to watch them like a hawk so they won't get into danger there. There are really deep areas (8' deep) with strong currents that can cause problems for any size person not expecting them.

If you really want to swim...I would suggest spring over Nov. We have been in Nov. over Thanksgiving week 4 times and sometimes it is warm but it seems more times than not... to be down right cold

We had our twins down last year when they were four and stayed at BCV...it really didn't fit us very well, but they absolutely loved BWV's and SSR. Their favorite was SSR, because they could start on the small slide and get comfortable and worked their way up to the bigger slide. By the time we got to BWV's they were doing the clown slide with no problems!

SAB is a large pool and while they have the sand play area, the kiddie pool is on the other side of the boardwalk from the main pool, near the main slide entrance. the water is only about knee deep, so adults don't really have anything to do while watching the kids. We usually just ended up in one of the coves that people don't use and it wasn't all that exciting.

At SSR, you can watch your kids pretty easily, except on the big slide, there is a point as they are going up that you won't be able to watch them until they come down...we had ours come to the railing and wave when they got to the top so we knew they were there. BWV's we were able to watch them the whole way up.

We stayed at SSR when my DD was 3 and when she was 4 and she loved the pools there and the water area at the Grandstand pool. The more popular pools are great for the older kids, but I think the SSR pools are terrific for the younger kids.
