Help with Christmas gift ideas for preteen girl

Hi!
Can a mom pop in here and ask for your help? What to get a 12 year old girl for christmas. She already has her own laptop, an iTouch (and the docking thing) and a DS, and really is growing out of the DS anyway. Whats the thing this year? She's very much out of "toys" and into music (MJ, Guns n Roses, etc) and writing.
Any ideas?

-Gift cards (fav. clothing stores, iTunes if she's into music, movie theater, etc)
-Clothes (I always love getting clothes...take her to a store and have her point out stuff or the kind of stuff she likes- my mom does that w/ me every year)
-If she's into bands, maybe the band has a book or something that she would like? Guess that depends on the band (I'm not really into bands so I'm pretty clueless)

These are the kinda things I'm asking for this year. Gift cards, while boring to open, give her the opportunity to get exactly what she wants. Or don't be afraid to get her something kind of weird...for my sweet sixteen most of my presents were toy story and it was awesome!

Shopping sprees can be good. Set an amount and take her to the mall one day? She gets what she wants and you both get quality time with each other.

Can't go wrong with iTunes gift cards! Also... I'd check to see if one of her favorite bands has concert tickets on sale soon. Some concerts have rly cheap seats if spending a ton is the issue. I'd check deliahs.com hot topic and amazon for concert/band shirts. Another gift card u can't go wrong with would b for a bookstore.

You could always get her a Kindle.

designer jeans ( is she into designer brands? I'm 14 and I am.)

jewelry (american eagle had cute jewerly and it's not to fancy looking and not too expensive!)

If she loves music definitely get her a bunch of Itunes gift cards.
That's what my mom always did and I was thrilled.

Clothes, makeup, jewelry, purses are all good idea's for girls of any age. XD
