Me, my Dh, and DD who will be 6 are going back to WDW in Oct. and I'm not sure what resort to pick. originally thought about BC b/c we are going to the food and wine festival, but we are also planning on MNSSHP so I thought about a monorail resort. Close to MK and can take it to Epcot-not going to any other parks. Not really sure if GF is my style-just doesn't interest me. DH and DD want to stay at CR in the tower room. Poly would also be okay b/c DD likes the pool. Me I'm just not sure. I think we are leaning more towards the tower room at CR-what do you all think? Is the CR outdated and as run down as I've heard? I think we will like the idea of the monorail running through the middle and of course Chef Mickey's is also a big plus with DD. Please help.

While I havent stayed in a tower room, we did stay at CR in Dec. I was disappointed. The dresser door in room leading to the fridge was coming off and even after we called to get it fixed it still felt like it would come undone again easily. Our room hadnt been vaccummed between the bed and nightstand or behind the dresser for some long time. It looked pretty nasty.
While this does not mean the whole resort is like this so far it has been one of my least favorite places to stay.
We have also stayed at the Poly and liked it much better. The theme, the condition of the room and just over all.

We have stayed at both CR and Polynesian. We did stay in one of the garden wings at CR. In the north bldg. We liked it a lot. The Tower is wonderful, I'm sure. I don't think CR is all that run-down. And having Chef Mickeys right there and the monorail running thru your resort is truly magical. We loved that we could just walk over to MK via the pathway...about an 8 min. walk.

As far as the Polynesian goes...if you like the tropical feel, then this one can't be beat. The pool is great for little ones since it is zero entry. We enjoyed our stay at the Polynesian a lot. It was really nice being able to hop on the monorail and go to MK. Or to take the path to TTC and grab the monorail directly to Epcot. You can also take a cute little boat to MK also.

We found the room quality to be about the same in both. However, we did find that the CM's at the CR were a little better to work with. And since we were there for Hurricane Charley, I figure they were working under huge stress. And still had smiles and great attitudes.

Thanks, we have never stayed at CR and have wanted to but have heard some bad things about it although I know, I know the only way we will know if we like it is to stay there as everyones views and taste are different. Maybe we will go ahead and make the leap and try it never know if we don't.

We've stayed at the CR three times now; North wing, Tower, Tower and one of those times we went to MNSSHP.

It was SO convenient at the end of the party to WALK back if we wanted to our resort.

It was also convenient for going over in our costumes.

We love the CR. We love the views and atmosphere. We feel like we are in the middle of Disney. In the heart of it all. We LOVE that you can walk to MK. We love the restaurants too.

To each their own. We love it and we're going again for my 40th birthday celebration!
