I have one dinner TS left to fill and here are my options:
Chef Mickey
Ohana
Crystal Palace
1900 Park Fare

I have not been to any of these. Any recommendations on which we should go with? It will be me, DH, DD 8 and DD 5. I been reading not so great reveiws for CM so was wondering about the others. thanks!

The characters at Chef Mickeys are great..the food we didn't care for. Out of those choices I would go for 1900 Park Fare. My kids loved the characters there and the food was really good.

I would pick Ohana. We love the atmosphere at the Polynesian. Ohana overlooks the Seven Seas Lagoon and if you get the right table, you can see the Castle. The food is wonderful, service is fast, so the kids won't get antsy. And there are some activities for kids, I cannot remember what, since we didn't have kids at the time. Some sort of parade with coconuts or something?

In my opinion, CM is better for dinner than it is for breakfast. I know that many disagree, but that's what I think.
We love Crystal Palace for breakfast or dinner. However, the characters are Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger. Your girls may be too old for these.
I've never tried Ohana or 1900 Park Fare before. Sorry! I'm sure that you will be happy with your choice no matter what....you're in Disney World!! :flower3:

We had the best food of our last trip at Ohana's for dinner.....no characters tho, unless you do the breakfast.

Crystal Palace is also very good.

I think it's a toss-up between CP and Ohana in terms of food quality and ambiance.

If you want characters, do CP, if you want a resort experience, do Ohana. Both are very good, for buffets, and in my opinion stand head and shoulders above the other two.

Dh & I love 1900 and never miss it. Our DD is still a big Pooh fan and she insists we go to Crystal Palace each trip also. Either one is a great choice.

I have heard that the Lady Tremaine and her horrible daughters are fantastic at 1900 Park Fare.

Chef Mickey - never been so I can't say on that one.
Ohana - must do for us every trip
Crystal Palace - only done for breakfast but we do like this one as well
1900 Park Faire - since you have daughters, they might enjoy this one. The character interaction was really good. We were not impressed with the food though.

I would do 1900 Park Fare. We ate there last December and it was great! The food was excellent and the character interaction was a riot! This is one place we hadn't been to in many years, but I'm sure we'll return to again soon because we all had such a good time.

My second choice would be Crystal Palace. Again, the food is really wonderful and the character interaction is good here. This would be a good choice with the age of your kids.

Chef Mickey's - I can take it or leave it. Nothing terribly special IMO.

Ohana is OK, again, nothing terribly special. Last time we ate there it was extremely noisy in the restaurant. Took a lot away from the atmosphere.

We have eaten at CM and 1900 park fare for dinner. We liked the food at CM better (I know many disagree)--didn't care as much for the food selections at 1900 PF. The characters at both were fun. Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters at 1900 Park Fare were hilarious.

However, the characters are Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger. Your girls may be too old for these.

IMHO, you are never too old for Pooh and his friends.

We like both 'Ohana and CP and would make the decision based on whether you want characters and would prefer to eat at a park.

If you haven't already scheduled a princess meal, I would definately choose 1900 Park Fare; otherwise my first choice would be CM. The charater interaction is wonderful and the food is good. We also really like Ohana for the atmosphere. You'll be happy with any of the choices.:goodvibes

You'll get a wide range of answers on this one!

Here's mine:

Chef Mickey - A "must do" for us every trip! Such a fun celebration meal. We love getting pictures with the characters, and we think the food is very good. We always go for a late breakfast (10:30-ish), skip lunch, and have an early dinner.

Ohana - Hated it! Our meal took almost 4 hours. The food was very dry. Entertainment was OK, but mostly annoying. It's a "never again" for us.

Crystal Palace - LOVE IT! Fantastic dinner buffet, great character interaction. We have some of our favorite pictures from here. :lovestruc

1900 Park Fare - We did this once and it was very nice. DS had a huge crush on Cinderella at the time. His character interaction with her was priceless! We found the food to be just OK.

SO - If it were me I'd probably go with either Chef Mickey or Crystal Palace.

Good luck choosing! :)

I thought the same thing about my boys last year, but they ended up having more fun there than anywhere! The characters seemed to play with them more. Eeyore and DS7 (at the time) had a great game going with his napkin. :thumbsup2

Chef mickeys from our family. A must do on every trip. We even go as far as making it our last Dining before we leave, to make sure we go out on a high note. I think it is a good choice for food and atmosphere (even though i do also like the food at 1900 park fair) I mean come on, Mickey's there, what else do you need to know!!!

My girls vote for CP every trip(for breakfast since that's what they know there), they love the pooh characters and that is the only character meal they still ask for. They are 9 & 11 now. They also love "ohana and that would be my choice. Something for everyone and there is entertainment for the kids. I just love visiting the Polynesian as well.
Enjoy whatever you choose, they're all good choices.

I'm not thrilled with CM for dinner as far as the food goes but love the characters and atmosphere. We didn't like the food at 1900 PF either. The options looked great but we didn't feel that they tasted as good as they looked. We all love both Crystal Palace and Ohana.

Crystal Palace.

I'd recommend 'Ohana for dinner, but it looks like you're looking for a character meal. Lilo just doesn't do anything for me, so I'd nix 'Ohana for breakfast for that reason alone. Crystal Palace is AWESOME and is right in the park, so you can get an early ADR for breakfast, finish breakfast, and then have a few minutes in the park before it officially opens.
